Description
CIT Resewn: Continued is an unofficial continuation of SHsuperCM's CIT Resewn (archived), re-implementing MCPatcher/OptiFine's Custom Item Textures (CIT) resourcepack format for Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 on Fabric.
If you've ever used a resourcepack with custom item textures via optifine/cit/ .properties files, this mod is what makes those keep working.
Features
texture=/tile=CIT rules — the vast majority of real-world CIT packs, including ones with no separate base texture for the target item.model=CIT rules — a full custom 3D model replacing the item entirely, with its own display transforms and animation support.texture.<name>=andmodel.<name>=overrides on any item (bow draw stages, trident throwing, broken elytra…), following vanilla's own item conditions.- Armor CITs replaced per layer (
texture.<material>_layer_<1|2>[_overlay]), so dyed leather keeps its dye and overlay, plus elytra CITs. type=enchantmentcustom glint textures on worn armor.- OptiFine's implicit "same file name as the
.properties" asset convention. - Animated CIT spritesheets (the OptiFine
frametimeconvention). - Legacy pack support:
nbt.display.Name/nbt.display.Lore.N/nbt.SkullOwner.Name/nbt.CustomModelData/nbt.Damageconditions from pre-1.21 packs are translated automatically, and.propertiesfiles in UTF-8 BOM or Latin-1 are read correctly.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2 or 26.3 (pick the matching file), Fabric Loader, Fabric API.
- Optional: ModMenu + Cloth Config for an in-game config screen.
- Not compatible with CIT Resewn or CIT Resewn Continuation (same mod id) — install only one.
Known limitations
- Enchantment CITs only render on worn armor; held, dropped and inventory items keep vanilla's glint. Some per-rule properties (
r/g/b/a,blend,blur,duration) are read but have no visual effect yet. - Only a few legacy
nbt.*conditions are translated (the ones listed above); rules using othernbt.*paths are skipped. - Items whose
item_modelwas changed by a server are not reskinned. model.<name>=and the "broken paths" option are implemented but not tested in-game yet.
