Description
CIT Resewn (NeoForge)
Overview
MCPatcher introduced Custom Item Textures, later adopted by OptiFine, as a way for resource packs to swap an item's texture or model based on the item stack being rendered. CIT Resewn brings that workflow to NeoForge while preserving the familiar.properties-based pack format used by many existing CIT packs.
This is a client-side rendering mod. Its scope is visual replacement: item
models, item textures, armor, elytra, and enchantment glints.
Features
- Supports OptiFine / MCPatcher-style
.propertiesCIT definitions. - Reads CIT entries from
mcpatcher/cit,optifine/cit, andcitresewn/citresource-pack roots. - Provides built-in CIT types for items, armor, elytra, and enchantment glints.
- Supports common match conditions such as items, damage, damage masks, data components, enchantments, enchantment levels, hand, stack size, weight, and fallback behavior.
- Maps legacy
nbt.display.Nameandnbt.display.Lorechecks onto Minecraft 1.21 data components while avoiding unsupported arbitrary legacy NBT matching. - Includes caching and indexed lookups for lower render-time matching overhead.
- Exposes a small API surface for registering CIT types, conditions, and global property handlers.
