🔴 CobbledLoot ⚪

This datapack adds small Pokéballs around your world that when claimed, will give you a tiny reward!

CobbledLoot is a fork of one of my favorite projects, PokeLoot! I've decided to make a fork of this project, since I've found a new way to generate the PokeLoots, we all love, in a different way from before with server performance in mind. This should be way more lightweight and better for server performance. Unlike PokeLoot, CobbledLoot focuses on minimal performance impact, making it an excellent choice for large servers. It also supports loot generation in both newly generated and previously explored chunks. However, please note that this is not an update to PokeLoot, but a separate datapack that works differently.

Important (⚠️) This datapack requires a resource pack to function properly. Make sure to place the ZIP file in both your resourcepacks and datapacks folders.

✅ Pros of CobbledLoot ✅

  • 1.
High performance – Designed to be significantly more lightweight, ideal for large multiplayer servers.
2. Universal chunk support – Loots generate in both old and new chunks, so it works in any world.
3. Plug-and-play – Easy to set up with no need for configuration.

❌ Cons of CobbledLoot ❌

  • 1.
Resource pack required – Won’t work without resourcepack.
2. Limited customization – Offers fewer configuration options compared to PokeLoot.
3. Challeging to integrate – Can be hard for players to integrate it into other resourcepacks/datapacks.

🤔 Which one should you use? 🤔

  • If you're running a small server or playing solo, PokeLoot is a great choice thanks to its customization and it shouldn't impact your server performance. However, if you're running a larger server or if you are concerned about performance, CobbledLoot is a better fit.

📝 Change CobbledLoot List 📝

Important Note: Modifying datapacks can be challenging for beginners. Proceed with caution! ⚠️

To customize the items found in each loot, you'll need to have the datapack folder unzipped and placed in your datapacks directory. Once unzipped, navigate to the following location:
CobbledLootDatapack\data\cobbledloot\loot_table
In this folder, you'll find JSON files for each type of loot, such as pokeballs, ultraballs, greatballs, and masterballs. These files contain the items they correspond to.

To change an item, open the .json file of the loot you'd like to change and locate an item which will look like this: "name": "cobblemon:poke_ball". For example, if you want to replace the pokeball drop with a rare candy, change "name": "cobblemon:poke_ball" to "name": "cobblemon:rare_candy".

You can find the namespaces for cobblemon items by pressing F3+H in-game and hovering your mouse over an item.

To remove items, simply delete the corresponding section:

{
    "type": "item",
    "weight": 1,
    "name": "cobblemon:poke_ball"
}

To add more items, simply add a new section:

{
    "type": "item",
    "weight": 1,
    "name": "cobblemon:poke_ball"
}

Remember to add a comma "," after each item (except the last one). Essentially, it's a JSON list separated by commas. If you've modified any of these .json files and the cobbledloots stop working, you might have misspelled an item in the namespace or used an item that doesn't exist in Minecraft's namespace. Additionally, double-check that your .json file is properly formatted by using an online JSON formatter.

🐣 Change CobbledLoot Spawn Rates 🐣

  • To change the Loots spawn rates, navigate to the following location:
CobbledLootDatapack\data\cobblemon\spawn_pool_world\npcs
In this folder, you'll find JSON files for each type of loot, such as pokeballs, ultraballs, greatballs, and masterballs. These files contain the spawning for each loot.

To change the chance of one spawning simply change the "weight" value. You can also change the "bucket" of a certain loot. There are 4 types of buckets: common, uncommon, rare and ultra-rare. If you want to make a loot rarer it's probably easier to change the "bucket" of that loot.

Important (⚠️) If you want to use this datapack on your Server contact me first.

Big thanks to @instrafe that gave me the idea to remake the datapack in this unique way!
