About

Description

SnackStay

Keeps Pokémon that spawn from a Poké Snack from despawning.

Cobblemon normally despawns wild Pokémon when you leave the area. SnackStay listens for snack (and optional fishing / natural) spawns, applies your rules, then marks matching Pokémon so they stay in the world.

Features

  • Lock Pokémon that bite a Poké Snack
  • Optional support for fishing and natural spawns
  • Filter by:
    • Spawn bucket (rare, ultra-rare, …)
    • Species labels (legendary, mythical, ultra_beast, paradox, …)
    • Shinies
    • Hidden ability
    • Minimum perfect IVs / IV total
    • Include / exclude species lists
  • One toggle to persist every snack spawn
  • NBT tag + re-apply on chunk load so the lock survives reloads
  • Optional nearby-player notification when a Pokémon is locked
  • Simple in-game commands

Commands

Command Permission Description
/snackstay reload OP level 2 Reload config/snackstay.json
/snackstay persist OP level 2 Force-lock the nearest wild Pokémon
/snackstay why Anyone Explain why the nearest Pokémon would stay or despawn
/snackstay status Anyone Show current filter settings

Config

On first launch the mod writes config/snackstay.json.

Default behaviour:

  • Persist snack-spawned Pokémon that are rare or ultra-rare
  • Or have labels legendary / mythical / ultra_beast / paradox
  • Or are shiny

Set "persistAllSnackSpawns": true if you want every snack spawn to stay.

Dependencies

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • Cobblemon 1.7.x
  • Fabric API (Fabric version)
  • Fabric Language Kotlin (Fabric version)

Loaders

  • Fabric
  • NeoForge

Notes

  • Server-side (works in singleplayer too)
  • Does not change spawn rates - only prevents matching Pokémon from despawning
  • Bucket detection uses Cobblemon’s SpawnBucket name at spawn time
