Description

Cookie Minions 🍪

Tiny cookie-shaped helpers that live, work and fight for you.

Cookie minions adds small, animated cookie minions to Minecraft. Each kind has its own job: they follow you, protect you, chop trees, build houses, mine ores, tend crops and move items between chests. You command them with magic wands, and you can give them their own work zones with Cookie Beacons so they keep working while you explore.

Getting minions

Craft a Minion Cookie (cookie + iron ingot + redstone) and left-click to summon a minion; sneak to summon several. Left-click your minion to turn it back into a cookie. It keeps its abilities and level. You can have up to 6 minions of each kind.

Five kinds of minions

  • Normal Minion: your all-rounder.
    • Defend: attacks whatever hurts you and nearby monsters, with its fists or any weapon you give it. With a bow or crossbow it shoots from a distance.
    • Chop: cuts down whole natural trees with the axe you give it, and can replant saplings.
    • Food: gathers food and hunts farm animals for you.
    • Follow: stays by your side.
    • Split tasks: gives each group of minions a different job.
  • Builder Minion: builds houses (simple, two-story or large with a balcony) using materials from nearby chests. It can also flatten huge areas, up to 50×50.
  • Miner Minion: it never breaks player-built blocks.
    • Just follow me: the default; it follows you without breaking anything.
    • Follow and mine: it mines the whole veins of the ores you choose.
    • Tunnels: it digs 1×2 or 3×3 tunnels, or three parallel branches. Ores it skips are left with a glowing outline.
    • Quarry: it digs a quarry down to bedrock next to a beacon.
    • Pickaxes: better pickaxes unlock better ores.
    • Torches: it lights up dark caves with torches you give it.
  • Farmer Minion: works an area based on the tool in its hand.
    • No tool: mows grass into hay bales.
    • Shears: collects whole plants.
    • Hoe: harvests, replants and sows crops.
    • Bone meal: give it some and it uses it on growing crops by itself.
    • Composter: it composts leftover scraps.
    • Farmer Chest: it stores the harvest there.
  • Courier Minion: carries items from up to 3 source chests to a destination chest, over and over. It has an optional item filter and a bag that grows as it levels up.

Cookie Beacon

Place a Cookie Beacon to create a work zone of any size, from 3×3 up to 100×100. Choose Defend, Chop or Farm mode, then send minions to it. They stay inside the zone and drop their haul in the chest next to the beacon. With “Work without me”, the zone stays loaded and keeps working even when you’re far away.

Zone Protection

A block that keeps miners from breaking anything in its chunk, or in a 3×3 or 5×5 area of chunks. Use it to keep your base and builds safe.

Abilities and levels

  • Abilities: feed your minions sugar (speed), cocoa beans (extra health), glowstone (they glow like a torch) or redstone (miners carry twice as much).
  • Levels: minions gain experience from working and fighting, up to level 5. Each level makes them faster and tougher.

Quality of life

  • Master Wand: one wand that controls every kind of minion.
  • My Minions screen (press M): see where every minion is, what it’s doing and how it’s doing. Call them to you or make them sit, from anywhere.
  • Status icons: an icon over a minion’s head tells you when it’s stuck, low on health or missing something (axe, hoe, seeds, torches, materials…).
  • Book of Minions: an in-game guide with every recipe and mechanic.
  • Advancements: 18 of them, in their own tab.
  • Config: a full config file, plus /minion commands.
  • Smooth animations: powered by GeckoLib. Minions blink, tilt their heads when you talk to them, squash when they land and fidget when they’re idle.
  • JEI and Jade: optional support.
