About
Description
This mod brings the Copper Golem from 1.21.9 (25.3) - Copper Age back to version 1.20.1 (23.2).
Overview
The Copper Golem is a utility mob that can sort items from Copper Chests into other chests.
Health: 12 (❤️ × 6).
Spawning
Placing a Carved Pumpkin or a Jack o'Lantern on a Copper Block summons a Copper Golem at the pumpkin's location. The golem's oxidation level matches that of the Copper Block (but it will not be waxed). The Copper Block then transforms into a Copper Chest.
Using an axe on an unwaxed, non-oxidized Copper Golem Statue transforms it back into a Copper Golem.
Behavior
When not holding an item, the Copper Golem will attempt to search for and open the nearest Copper Chest, collect an item from it, and hold it in its hand.
If the found Copper Chest is empty, the golem will remember it and search for the next Copper Chest it hasn't remembered.
It can collect up to 16 of the same item at a time and can remember up to 10 containers of the same type in sequence.
Subsequently, the Copper Golem will attempt to search for and open the nearest regular chest or trapped chest to place the held item inside.
Each interaction takes the Copper Golem 3 seconds. Its search range is 32 blocks horizontally and 8 blocks vertically from its position.
Interacting with a Copper Golem while empty-handed will cause it to drop the item it is holding (empty-handed interaction is required in Bedrock Edition).
Movement
The Copper Golem is immune to fall damage but will still pathfind to avoid dangers. It sinks to the bottom in water but can still move underwater.
Copper Golems can open and close wooden doors and copper doors.
Oxidation
Unwaxed Copper Golems are subject to oxidation, with three intermediate stages before becoming fully oxidized. They progress to the next oxidation stage every 25,200 to 27,600 seconds.
Each oxidation stage has a different appearance texture. After rusting to the fully oxidized (verdigris) stage, if the Copper Golem's location is not air, it has a 0.58% chance per game tick to oxidize into a Copper Golem Statue. It then becomes stationary in a random pose and drops any held item.
Easter Egg
When a Copper Golem and an Iron Golem meet, the Iron Golem may give the Copper Golem a poppy, which the Copper Golem will wear on its head.
Players can use shears to cut off the poppy, causing it to drop as an item.
Drops
When killed, a Copper Golem always drops the item it is holding and 1–3 Copper Ingots. These drops are not affected by the Looting enchantment
