Copper Weathering

Copper Weathering is a Minecraft datapack that lets wind charges age copper blocks on impact.

Throw a wind charge near copper and the nearby blocks can advance by one oxidation stage:

copper → exposed copper → weathered copper → oxidized copper

Features

• Wind charges trigger copper weathering when they land.
• Supports Minecraft 26.2 copper-family blocks, including copper bulbs, grates, doors, trapdoors, chests, chains, lanterns, golem statues, and lightning rods.
• Preserves compatible block states while weathering, such as facing, waterlogging, powered state, door half, hinge, slab type, and stair shape.
• Preserves important copper chest block-entity data such as items, custom names, locks, loot tables, and components.
• Uses Radial Patterns for compact randomized impact shapes.

Both datapacks must be enabled in the world.

Compatibility

This release targets Minecraft Java Edition 26.2. It uses the 26.2 datapack layout:

It is not tested on older Minecraft versions.
