Description
Cosmiq Cosmetic Editor
Cosmiq is an open-source, client-side cosmetic creation and preview mod for Fabric on Minecraft 26.2. It provides an in-game wardrobe where creators can import, validate, preview, and equip custom cosmetics made with Blockbench.
Cosmiq is currently in alpha. Cosmetic and emote creation, local previews, and local equipment are available now. Multiplayer synchronization between Cosmiq users is still in development.
Current features
- Import supported
.bbmodelprojects from Blockbench - Convert models into validated
.cosmiqcosmetic packages - Preview cosmetics on a live Minecraft player model
- Equip imported cosmetics locally in your world
- Support for cubes, polygon meshes, PNG textures, and model animations
- Multiple named texture variants in a single cosmetic
- Head, torso, arm, and leg attachment points
- Slim, wide, and universal player-model compatibility
- Automatic cosmetic animations based on player states and actions
- Preview states including walking, sprinting, crouching, swimming, flying, attacking, using items, and more
- Adjustable 3D previews with camera rotation and zoom
- A customizable wardrobe interface with an editable resource-pack theme
Emotes
Cosmiq also includes an experimental local emote system. Import supported Blockbench animations, assign them to one of eight emote-wheel slots, and play them using the configurable emote-wheel key.
Multi-actor and prop-based emotes can be inspected in the Full Runner preview. Multiplayer emote synchronization and production support for these advanced scenes are not available yet.
Creating cosmetics
Cosmiq is accompanied by creator tooling for Blockbench. Creators can build cosmetics with custom geometry, textures, animation clips, attachment points, preview cameras, wardrobe metadata, and texture variants.
Imported content is checked against size, geometry, texture, hierarchy, and compatibility limits before it is loaded. Creator assets are treated as data and cannot contain executable scripts.
Client-side only
Cosmiq does not need to be installed on a Minecraft server. The current release operates entirely on the client.
A future update is planned to let players share approved cosmetics and emotes with other players actively using Cosmiq. That online functionality is not included in the current alpha release.
