Description

Create: Covered

Blend Create's mechanical components into your builds. Cover shafts, gearboxes, tunnels and other kinetic parts with almost any block in your inventory — they keep rotating, transmitting power, and working exactly as before, just disguised to match your build.

available on Modrinth Join our Discord Require Create

How it works

  • Right-click a coverable Create component with a block in hand to disguise it as that block, oriented exactly as if you'd placed it normally — orientation follows where you're looking, not the mechanism's actual (often awkward) shape.
  • Shift + right-click with Create's Wrench removes an existing cover, restoring the component's normal appearance.
  • Shift + right-click with a block places it normally instead of covering, matching vanilla's usual "sneak to bypass interaction" convention.
  • Full Jade integration — hover over a covered component to see what it's disguised as.

What can be covered

  • Shaft
  • Andesite Encased Shaft / Brass Encased Shaft
  • Gearbox
  • Clutch
  • Gearshift
  • Encased Chain Drive
  • Andesite Tunnel / Brass Tunnel

Compatibility with Create Encased

Create: Covered natively supports the mechanical components added by Create: Encased, the addon that offers the same Create components (shaft, gearbox, clutch, gearshift, chain drive…) reskinned in different materials.

All the equivalent components offered by this addon can be covered using the exact same logic used for vanilla Create blocks:

  • Shaft (in brass, copper, zinc, glass and wood variants)
  • Gearbox and Configurable Gearbox
  • Clutch and Automatic Clutch
  • Gearshift and Adjustable Chain Gearshift
  • Encased Chain Drive

Support covers all the material variants offered by Create: Encased (andesite, brass, copper, railway, shadow steel, refined radiance, industrial iron, weathered iron, plus the wood and glass shaft variants).

No additional configuration is required: if Create: Encased is installed, its components are immediately coverable just like Create's native ones.

What can be used as a cover

Almost any block in the game. The only exclusions are blocks with their own dynamic behavior or rendering (chests, furnaces, spawners, beacons, campfires, shulker boxes, and other block-entity-backed blocks by default).

Highlights

  • No config, no new blocks or items — a pure visual/QoL layer on top of Create.
  • Biome-correct coloring for tint-dependent blocks like grass and leaves.
  • Fully functional — covered components keep their kinetic behavior untouched; only the appearance changes.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1
  • NeoForge
  • Create 6.0.10+
  • Jade (optional, for tooltip integration)
