I think that Create gets a bad reputation because of how common it's used in modpacks, but I truly think that it's used this much because it's simply fantastic!

Create is a technical marvel in the modded Minecraft space, incorporating technology that fits the archaic feeling of traditional Minecraft. The animations are superb, the machines look incredibly intricate, and the recipes aren't bad at all!

I think the place where Create can be intimidating is how it all depends on physical force as a power source. This leads to everything needing to be connected, instead of other technical modpacks which allow power to be moved around more compactly. But I don't think this is a negative, I think it's just a difference in preference. This mod is still truly amazing!

This mods is practically what the 1st industrial revolution was to a considerable extent, but in a Minecraft style. Though at the same time the mod itself is almost not pushy enough on upgrading SU generation beyond its water wheels. The only exception would be with any mod adding a motor that uses FE. Otherwise, the water wheels win out among practically anything else from most addons. There's also the fact that while there's a SU floor for rotation, it's e-300 something digits and at the same time the machines have a speed floor significantly much higher than that and yet still function off that small amount of SU.

In all practicality, as much fun as the mod is, from what I've recently gathered, it's somewhat easily cheesed with that speed floor instead of machines just not functioning if they don't get enough SU to them.

Objectively, it's probably the best Minecraft mod ever made. Create is so polished and expansive that it's arguably capable of delivering as much content as the vanilla game, while maintaining a consistent and impressively high standard of quality.
What sets Create apart from other mods is how basic tools and components interact in exceedingly intricate and fascinating ways. Vanilla Minecraft is an exercise in this philosophy: redstone is wonderful in its simplicity and simultaneously absurd in its depth. Pistons move blocks, Hoppers move items, Redstone Lamps turn on and off. Despite Minecraft's commitment to having fundamental constituent parts that anyone can understand, redstone can be leveraged to build anything from a door that opens automatically to a computer that can run Minecraft inside of Minecraft.
Create feels like taking this same design concept to its logical conclusion. Rarely does a block or item in Create perform a complex function all by itself; instead of a magic machine which produces Cobblestone and automatically outputs it to a neighboring inventory, Create has drills for breaking the blocks and novel ways to move items around and flexible filtration systems for ensuring your Cobblestone goes where you need it to. There is sincere thought put into how each available tool can be used in myriad ways, and how those tools interact in an exponential explosion of possibility. That is the key word which defines this mod: Possibility. It's all well and good that Create is exceptionally-made, with beautiful textures and a genius in-game documentation system in the form of Ponder, but it is also enormously interesting in that rare way where the possibility space is so large that imagination genuinely is the limit.
This is a point which is unfortunately missed in many of Create's derivatives. Many add-ons to the mod are antithetical to its design; they give solutions rather than tools. Create is frequently overshadowed by simpler mods which combine its multi-step contraptions into single blocks. Due to its popularity (and, being honest, its near-incomparable quality), many large contemporary modpacks include Create without giving it the treatment it is asking for, leading to players blitzing through the "progression" of the mod when that is not the primary purpose around which it is constructed. It is surprisingly feature-complete on its own, and it's difficult to get bored of innovation. Install just Create and let your ingenuity run wild, and see if you can't make something unique.

Everything in the mod has connection with other things inside the mod, i would say that its only problem is that i just not need to make everthing in the mod, so when you play alone, you have to be creative.

This mod is by far the most complete, visually appealing and vanilla friendly tech mod out by far. The only shortcomings are the at times poor performance compared to other tech mods caused by the impressive visuals and emphasis on building large factories.

Some people argue this mod is overused in packs, but that isn't a detriment to the mod itself and instead serves to reinforce how ubiquitous it has become in the modding scene. The building possibilities combined with the accessibility of the mod makes it a must-play. Highly recommended!

(P.S.) I highly recommend playing at your own pace and avoiding giant schematics so you can properly learn the mod, the built in ponder mechanic should be sufficient to learn

Whenever you ask yourself about tech mods, many people would always assume that there would atleast be 20 layers of GUI interaction and so... Create evades that entirely, it instead has so much in world interactions and functionalities which is honestly a really fresh take on tech mods

Create's whole system is based on rotating mechanical gears, and how do you rotate them? well, by producing stress. Stress transported by gears and shaft everywhere across and can be used for almost everything you can think of. Automatic wood farm, automatic wheat farm, quarries, whole processing line, etc. It's simply extremely modular and has a good tutorial too using Ponder.

Now for the fall-offs... Create is too modular, you pretty much can get so far into Create and never knew that you can make an automatic mining machine if you super glued certain Create things together. Yep, this also applies to the addons too.

Create's biggest fall-off however is in logistics, for simple automation and such things, Create is pretty efficient. But for logistics, Create loses to just about any pipe mods, it's overly complicated as you have to manage gear ratios, stress, rotational direction, etc, whereas most pipe mods can just be plugged like that. i'd argue that even Vanilla hopper chains could be better in certain cases compared to Create's logistic solution despite however cheaper Create's solution is.

With all that being said, Create is an awesome tech mod, and fills it's niche properly. Other mod can provide pipes well enough to cover Create. Absolutely would recommend this mod, people should play Create atleast once, and whether you're coming from a redstoner, builder, or even pvper, definitely should try this mod.

I've always always, eventually, gotten bored of (modded) Minecraft after a while of being excited. That has not been the case since I was shown Create.

Create is a tech mod without black boxes.
It's a tech mod without electricity (I'm sorry FE/RF, I just don't gel with you).
It doesn't really massively outscale any farms you can make in vanilla unless you go crazy.
It is also practically a decoration mod of practical decorations.
No guidebook clutter or need for a wiki, just [W] Ponder.
Trains.

You couldn't nerdsnipe me better.

I've used Create in lots of packs, and for my own as well.

Gameplay.
There is a lot to Create, and they add more every major update. You can do quite a lot with it, even outside of it's intended purpose. You can create a small farm, a really sick big door, literal trains, and whole sorts of contraption that comes to mind. That's just the surface of what you can do, and without mentioning any of its addons which add a whole new area of gameplay to the mod. You can do almost anything with Create, and it lives up to its name.

Performance.
Performance is alright, however with big or lots of contraptions you can get some FPS drops or lag. It is also a bit memory demanding as it is a pretty big mod with lots of blocks, items, and features. Some performance mods can help a bit but still a beefy mod, however that's to be expected as it's again a pretty big mod.

Aesthetics.
Textures and models are amazing, all of them are unique and very much vanilla friendly. The animations of some blocks are also really well done, and are very impressive.

Create is a very well done mod, truly one of the best and biggest mods out there. It's also one of my favourites, and it's perfect for lots of packs, even those that don't focus primarily on automation.

I've used Create in lots of packs, and for my own as well.

a great take on tech mods - especially the likes of rotarycraft and other mods that make use of rotational energy. FPS-wise it's not the best, and shaders tend to be incompatible but with some proper crafttweaking you can make modpacks last months on end with it alone. The Ponder feature allows quick understanding of any machine within less than a minute for the experienced, while newer players may inspect the workings of a Ponder scene to get a sense of what's going on.

About

Welcome to Create, a mod offering a variety of tools and blocks for Building, Decoration and Aesthetic Automation.

The added elements of tech are designed to leave as many design choices to the player as possible. With Create, the game isn't played inside a bunch of UIs, it challenges you to setup contraptions of animated components working together in many possible arrangements.

Create's visual in-game documentation called 'Ponder' will guide you though all added mechanics and gadgets.

Important: In order to be able to see all recipes required in Create, consider installing JEI. The vanilla recipe book will not be able to guide you through the experience by itself.
