Create: Refabricated Recipes

A Fabric mod that adds useful, balanced, and scientifically plausible recipes for Create Fly (the modern Fabric port of Create).

About

This mod adds 23 new recipes for Create Fly, including crushing, compacting, bulk haunting, and mixing recipes. Most recipes are based on scientifically plausible processes and can be individually toggled on/off via a config file.

This is my first mod! And I am no CS major or anything like that, just enough knowledge to fall to the rabbit hole of Minecraft modding. I will go out of my way to tell that most of the Java code for setting the config file was from various AI bots. I really do not know a thing about Java, and Minecraft modding in extension, at the time of writing. I only know Python and JSON from a basic CS course and that's it. Anyway, feedback and suggestions are of course welcome (as long as I am not lazy enough haha).

Why another recipe mod?

Because I want to.

Jokes aside, Create Fly does not have much addons to it (at all), so I went out of my cave and made one. Initially made for myself only as a datapack, since I enjoyed playing Create with addons on NeoForge. I wanted to automate everything in my world, and vanilla Create offers little for those who like hoarding stuff late game.

The creation of the recipes are heavily inspired by Create: Ultimate Factory and my knowledge on various scientific fields. I'm a nerd, yes.

Features

  • Adds twenty-three (23) balanced and sensible recipes to enable automation of almost everything late game (post-Brass Age) with resource hoarders and builders in mind
  • Some recipes closely drew inspiration from real geology, chemistry, and physics
  • Toggleable recipes via a (very basic) JSON config file
  • Currently only available on Fabric 26.1.2

Future Plans

  • I might tweak some recipes to rebalance it, or even add a custom block/item to expand my catalyst idea (depends if I survive fabric modding 101 and if I have the time)
  • I'm considering making it available for 26.2, and incorporate cinnabar and sulfur in updated/new recipes, e.g. renewable gunpowder
  • An alternative blaze burner fuel source that can superheat it, made from anthracite (a rare form of coal) and logs AKA Presto Logs. A Back to the Future reference, yes.

Recipes can be viewed via JEI and its siblings.

Recipes

1. Stone Generators

  • Adds three (3) stone generators through heated compacting recipes to allow high throughput farms for late game without sacrificing FPS to drills and minecart/stationary contraption block breakers
  • Only available post-Brass Age and netherite to not break the game balance
  • Inspired from seed catalysts use in nanomaterials and industrial chemistry processes

2. Renewable Gunpowder

  • Drawn from the recipe for black powder, using a heated mixing recipe
  • Cinder flour acts as the source of potassium nitrate (saltpeter) and sulfur. Charcoal is charcoal, and sugar is there for extra oomph (I know because I tried ;>).
  • Chucks out 80% of input items to simulate impurities
image

3. Renewable Redstone and Lapis Lazuli

  • Redstone mimics red iron oxide (hematite), while Lapis Lazuli mimics lazurite, needing iron sulfides (iron + cinder flour), and calcium carbonate (calcite)
  • Both are heated mixing recipes
image image

4. Renewable Calcite

  • Limestone and Calcite are mostly made up of calcium carbonate, the former is a rock while the latter is a mineral that is purer in form
  • Uses a non-heated mixing recipe
image

5. Renewable Diamonds

  • My take on the renewable diamonds recipe guarantees a diamond for every press at the cost of superheating (to simulate immense heat and pressure to form diamonds irl)
image

6. Cheaper Rose Quartz

  • Not really chemically accurate, but simulates heat and pressure to form crystals
  • Essentially a 9x more efficient recipe of rose quartz using a superheated compacting recipe
image

7. Tuff and Deepslate

  • Analogous to the andesite recipe, but uses cobblestone
  • Cobbled Deepslate for those lazy enough to mine it
image image

8. Renewable Netherite

  • Highly debatable. Netherite scraps only drop 0.3% of the time
  • Crushing recipe for nether bricks, inspired from Create: Ultimate Factory
image

9. Renewable Wither Rose

  • Haunting recipe for Rose Bushes giving Wither Roses 40% of the time
  • No more Wither-based farms
image

10. Renewable Wither Skeleton Skull

  • Also highly debatable. Skulls drop 0.1% of the time by crushing scorchia
  • Designed to be paired with the renewable wither rose to suppply black dye to converting scoria to scorchia (so technically wither roses gave rise to wither skeleton skulls)
image

11. Renewable Coal

  • A classic charcoal bulk haunting recipe
image

12. Renewable Netherrack

  • Sourced from bulk haunting basalt. Designed to be paired with renewable netherite scraps
  • Also inspired by Create: Ultimate Factory
image

13. Renewable Create Stones

  • Non-heated mixing recipes for veridium, asurine, ochrum, and crimsite
  • Made for builders looking to hoard these for their decorative blocks
  • Added 'dupe tax' to make crushing these back to ores and nuggets futile while being available early game
image image image image

14. Renewable Glowstone Dust

  • Designed to be paired with renewable lapis lazuli, making use of glow berries
image

15. Renewable Leather

  • Makes use of otherwise rubbish rotten flesh
  • Inspired from real life processing of leather, where slaked lime is used to wash the hide (well Calcite is lime, not slaked lime but yeah fair enough)
  • 1:1 conversion gated by a heated mixing recipe
image

16. Bulk Polishing of Rose Quartz

  • I made do with this since Create: Enchantment Industry does this already using the mechanical grindstone
  • Inspired by real life rock tumbling processes to grind and polish raw gems and rocks
  • Uses sand and gravel as media, and gated by the use of powdered obsidian (as emery, even if obsidian is mostly silicon dioxide and not aluminum but yeah)
  • First recipe I thought of incorporating powdered obsidian since its only use is for trains

Create Overworld Stones Recipe (Veridium) Added 'dupe tax' for each variant to make crushing it futile. Available early game
  • Realistic Gunpowder Recipe
Realistic Gunpowder Recipe Uses Cinder Flour as Potassium Nitrate and Sulfur source, Sugar for oomph
  • Geological Lapis Lazuli Recipe
Geological Lapis Lazuli Recipe Iron Nuggets and Cinder Flour for Iron Sulfides, Calcite for Calcium Carbonate
  • Bulk Haunting of Rose Bushes to Wither Roses
Bulk Haunting of Rose Bushes to Wither Roses Can be fed to make Black Dye for Wither Skeleton Skulls (Wither gives rise to Wither)
  • Geological Calcite Recipe
Geological Calcite Recipe Limestone and Calcite are both comprised mainly of Calcium Carbonate, the latter is just purer
  • Wither Skeleton Skulls from Scorchia
Wither Skeleton Skulls from Scorchia 0.1% Drop Chance from Crushing Scorchia
  • Catalyzed Cobblestone Generator Recipe
Catalyzed Cobblestone Generator Recipe Makes use of Powdered Obsidian and Netherite Scrap as Catalysts for High Throughput Stone Generation (has 2 other types)
  • Rotten Flesh to Leather Recipe
Rotten Flesh to Leather Recipe Modeled from real life Leather processing which uses slaked lime (although Calcite is lime, not slaked lime)
  • Bulk Polishing of Rose Quartz
Bulk Polishing of Rose Quartz Inspired by real life Rock Tumbling processes where Powdered Obsidian is roughly modeled to Emery/Corundite (Aluminum Oxide)
