Description

🔧 Air Starter – Industrial Engine Starter

Air Starter adds an industrial air-powered starter designed to automate the startup of alternative engines when using Create and TFMG together.

This block is not a motor and does not provide continuous power. Instead, it delivers a temporary rotational output by consuming TFMG Air, simulating a real-world industrial air starter used to bring large machines up to speed.

📦 Dependencies & Compatibility

This mod is designed to work alongside the following mods:

  • Create – Required for rotational mechanics and kinetic systems

  • TFMG (The Factory Must Grow) – Required for air generation and alternative engines

⚠️ The Air Starter will not function correctly without TFMG, as it relies exclusively on TFMG Air.

⚙️ How it works

  • The Air Starter activates only via redstone signal

    • Redstone ON → produces rotation

    • Redstone OFF → stops immediately

  • While active, it generates rotation until its internal air buffer is fully drained

  • Once empty, it will not rotate again until refilled with air

🔋 Air & Power Stats

  • Air capacity: 8,000 mB (TFMG Air)

  • Drain time: 10 seconds at full operation

  • Rotational output:

    • 64 RPM

    • 8,000 SU

  • Air consumption is faster than any possible refill rate, preventing feedback loops or infinite power generation

🏭 Intended use

The Air Starter is designed to provide the initial rotational push required to automatically start:

  • Steam engines

  • Combustion engines

It fits perfectly into industrial automation setups, where engines require an external kick to begin operating without player interaction.

⚠️ Limitations & Balance

  • Requires stored air to function

  • Provides no power without air

  • Cannot sustain rotation indefinitely

  • Cannot be used as a standalone power source
