Description

Creeper Afterimage

Creepers destroy your blocks, not your memory.

Creeper Afterimage leaves translucent ghost blocks where a Creeper damaged your build, showing what was there before—including block orientation—so you can rebuild it yourself.

Features

  • Remember your build: Ghosts preserve block states, including stair facing, slab type, and log direction.
  • Repair at your own pace: Afterimages remain saved between play sessions.
  • Clear as you rebuild: Placing the correct block and state removes its ghost.
  • Dismiss individual ghosts: Hold Shift and right-click an afterimage to remove it.
  • Control visibility: Press J to toggle ghosts, or use /afterimage clear to clear them all.
  • Customize the look: Adjust opacity, render distance, through-wall visibility, matching rules, and expiry.

Survival-friendly

No automatic repairs, free materials, or changes to explosion damage. You still gather the blocks and rebuild everything yourself.

Compatibility

Available for Minecraft Java 1.21.1, on Fabric and NeoForge. Fabric requires Fabric API.

Works client-side using heuristic Creeper detection. Installing it on the server improves detection accuracy. Only baked block models are displayed; block-entity-only visuals such as chests and signs aren’t rendered, and inventories or other block-entity data aren’t saved.
