Critical Veins

Turn mining into a skill shot.

When you mine an ore, a weak spot appears on its face. Aim your crosshair at it to land a critical hit. Every hit moves the spot somewhere else on the ore, and the more hits you land before the ore breaks, the more it drops.

Features

- Weak spots on every ore (anything tagged `c:ores`, so modded ores work too)
- Up to 4 hits per ore
- Aiming at the weak spot also speeds up your mining
- Fortune makes the weak spot bigger and every hit more rewarding
- Ancient debris can't be duplicated: with at least one hit it drops already smelted netherite scrap, with a chance of extra scrap per hit (up to 5 per block). Fortune raises that chance, up to 75% per hit
- Silk Touch disables the effect
- Fully configurable (spot size, hits, multipliers, debris chances)

How it works

1. Start mining an ore with a pickaxe.
2. Look for the white particle on the ore face: that's the weak spot.
3. Keep your crosshair on it to land a hit. The spot jumps to a new position after each hit.
4. Break the ore to collect your bonus drops.

Configuration

A config file is generated in your `config` folder (`critical_veins-*.toml`). If you update the mod, delete the old file so new default values are applied.
