Description
Crumbling Blocks
Crumbling Blocks lets you break blocks in pieces much smaller than a block. A sledgehammer knocks a hole into a wall, a shotgun peppers it with pits, and TNT leaves a round crater. Every block is made of 16×16×16 small pieces, and only the pieces you hit come off.
What you can do
- Sledgehammer: left-click a block to knock a chunk out of it. Keep hitting and you punch a hole through the wall, in any shape you like.
- Shotgun: right-click to fire 14 pellets. Each pellet chips the block it hits, and it hurts mobs too.
- Explosions: TNT, creepers and other blasts cut a round crater piece by piece. Walls at the edge of the blast are left cracked and half standing.
- Loose pieces fall: whatever a break leaves hanging on nothing drops off.
- Rubble flies: broken pieces fly out, bounce and lie on the ground for a few seconds.
Broken blocks keep their look. The outside has the block's own texture, and the inside shows what the block is made of: dirt under grass, bare wood under bark. You can walk into the holes, shoot arrows through them and see through them.
Which blocks crumble
Solid blocks crumble: stone, bricks, dirt, wood, planks, ores, and also slabs, stairs and snow layers. Glass, fences, doors and torches break whole, and TNT goes off. Chests and other blocks with an inventory do not crumble.
Crafting
Sledgehammer, from 5 iron ingots and 2 sticks:

Shotgun, from 2 iron ingots, flint and steel, any planks and gunpowder:

The shotgun needs no ammunition. It wears out after 600 shots, and the sledgehammer after 1500 blows.
Options
Open the Kruszenie (Crumbling)... button in the Options screen (kruszenie is Polish for crumbling). You can:
- switch crumbling on or off;
- switch explosion craters on or off;
- decide whether hanging pieces fall;
- set the strength of the tools and the amount of flying rubble;
- repair every damaged block near you with one button.
Operators also have /kruszenie repair, /kruszenie info and /kruszenie option.
Good to know
- Before you remove the mod, repair your damaged blocks. A damaged block is a block of this mod, so it disappears from the world when the mod is gone. The repair button makes it a whole vanilla block again.
- Rubble on the ground disappears after about 10 seconds.
- Water does not flow into the holes.
- Very large explosions (power above 16) work the vanilla way.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2 with Fabric Loader 0.19 or newer and Fabric API.
- In multiplayer, install it on the server and on every client.
- Works with Sodium and Iris, and without them.
- The screenshots are taken with a shader pack. Without one, the game looks like vanilla Minecraft.
