This is dark caverns: A brand new dimension mod for minecraft that adds a dimension filled with huge caverns, caves, treasure and danger, located below the bedrock barrier.

Dark Caverns is a minecraft mod that aims to expand on mining, adventure and the exploration part of minecraft by adding a brand new dimension, the dark caverns, located deep below the bedrock barrier. The mod is a cavern / cave style dimension with a huge cavern part at the top and then tons of caves below. The dark caverns currently includes 3 unique biomes and mobs plus tons of blocks, gear and items, but even more is coming in the future! In the dark caverns you can find everything from your standard overworld ores (but in greater quantity) to platinum and even hellstone, but although mining there can be extremely rewarding there's also the risk of being slaughtered by one of it's unfriendy inhabitants, so be careful!

🌀 Getting to the dimension

Getting to the dark caverns is a more involved process than just smacking up a rectangle and igniting it. To get to the dimension, you first need to trade with a cartographer and purchase the map to the forgotten tower, which should be the last trade on master level. It normally costs around 36 emeralds but can be cheaper or more expensive depending on how the villager is feeling, as with all trades. After obtaining the map, follow it and you'll find the forgotten tower after traveling for a while. Defeat all the enemies, claim the loot and steal the key. Then, mine down to bedrock and find a piece of cracked bedrock. When you use the key on it, you'll open a gateway to the dark caverns... Jumping in it will take you to the other side, and to get home just jump into it again from the other side.

📦 Versions and porting

I will try to keep the mod up to date with the latest versions of forge. Fabric or 1.12 won't be added since I simply don't have enough time, just keeping one version active is a ton of work already.

• Does the mod work with terrain mods such as terraforged? Answer: Of course, it should be compatible with any terrain mods as long as they don't completely remove bedrock (if you find one of these contact me and I'll see what I can do to get the issue resolved).
• Can you backport to XX version? Answer: Unfortunately no. I simply don't have enough time, but if you know someone who wants to port it then just contact me on discord!

• Fabric? Answer: Unfortunately same as above.

• Are you planning to translate to any other languages? I'm not planning to translate it myself (might translate to swedish but that's about it) since I don't wanna rely on google translate. If you know someone who can translate the mod for me, contact me in my discord server!
