Dead's Fork of RGB Blocks

IMPORTANT: This is Dead's fork of RGB Blocks, originally created by PlatinPython.

This fork was commissioned by Asurarazriel (@azzy_asurazariel) to bring the mod up to date and fix several issues, including bugs, minor crashes, Iris-related problems, and compatibility issues with other mods.

The goal of this fork is to preserve the original RGB Blocks experience while improving stability and compatibility for modern modpacks.

RGB Blocks

Minecraft gives you a decent selection of colors, but sometimes 16 dye colors just aren't enough.

RGB Blocks expands Minecraft's building options by allowing blocks to be colored in 16,777,216 different colors.

Using the RGB Paint Bucket, you can select practically any color you want and apply it directly to supported RGB blocks.

Want a very specific shade of purple? A dark red? A precise color from a hex code? You can make it.

RGB Paint Bucket

The Paint Bucket is the main tool used to customize RGB Blocks.

It includes a GUI where you can select colors using:

• RGB values — Red, Green, and Blue
• HSB values — Hue, Saturation, and Brightness
• Hex color codes

This makes it easy to either visually create a color or enter an exact value.

Opening the Paint Bucket

Sneak + Right-Click while holding the Paint Bucket and not looking at a block to open its color configuration menu.

You can then adjust the color using the RGB or HSB controls.

Copying Colors

Sneak + Right-Click an existing RGB Block with the Paint Bucket to copy that block's color into the bucket.

This makes matching colors across builds much easier.

Painting Blocks

Simply Right-Click an RGB Block using the Paint Bucket to apply the currently selected color.

RGB Blocks also retain their selected color when broken, allowing colored blocks to be moved and reused without losing their appearance.

Paintable Blocks

RGB Blocks includes a variety of customizable building blocks and variants, including things such as:

• Concrete
• Concrete Powder
• Wool
• Wooden Planks
• Terracotta
• Glass
• Glass Panes
• Prismarine
• Stairs
• Slabs
• Redstone Lamps
• Glowstone
• Antiblocks
• And more

Instead of being restricted to Minecraft's normal palette, these blocks can be customized to fit almost any build or color scheme.

Creating the Paint Bucket

The RGB Paint Bucket is created using:

• Red Dye
• Green Dye
• Blue Dye
• Water Bucket

The recipe is shapeless.

The Paint Bucket has a limited amount of paint available before it needs to be refilled. Using it to create or recolor RGB Blocks consumes some of the stored paint rather than destroying the bucket itself.

Color Information

RGB items display their color information in their tooltip.

You can view information such as:

• Hex color
• Red value
• Green value
• Blue value
• Hue
• Saturation
• Brightness

This is especially useful when trying to reproduce exact colors across a build.

Fork Changes / Fixes

This fork focuses primarily on stability, compatibility, and maintaining RGB Blocks for Minecraft 1.21.1 NeoForge.

Changes include:

• Bug fixes
• Minor crash fixes
• Iris-related fixes
• Improved compatibility with other mods
• General stability improvements
• Modern NeoForge compatibility

Additional compatibility fixes and improvements may be added as issues are discovered.
