dying throws you in the void for 10 minutes your hotbar offhand and armor are safe but the rest of your inventory gets thrown in a minecart chest

rework totem to give more bulk and weakness 5

evokers drop totem shards

craft totem of undying with:

• turtle scute--totem shard--turtle scute
• totem shard--lapis---------totem shard
• resin block---totem shard--resin block

craft totem of preservation with:

• echo shard---totem shard--echo shard
• totem shard--chest---------totem shard
• resin block---totem shard--resin block

this protects your stuff from being lost and removes the void time

craft totem of void with:

• ender eye----------totem shard--ender eye
• totem shard--------end crystal--totem shard
• open eyeblossom--totem shard--open eyeblossom

this drags everyone around you into the void when you die(they dont lose their stuff though) you are not safe from this while using totem of preservation
