About

Description

Deathlink is a gameplay datapack that adds a shared-life mechanic to Minecraft. When any player dies for any reason, including combat, fall damage, or environmental hazards, all players in the world are immediately killed as well. This creates a high-stakes multiplayer experience where survival depends on teamwork, communication, and careful decision-making.

The datapack works by monitoring each player’s death count using Minecraft’s built-in scoreboard system. When a player’s death count increases, Deathlink triggers a global event that kills every other player. This behavior runs automatically in the background and does not require configuration after installation.

What this datapack adds

  • A global shared-life rule that links all player deaths together
  • Automatic detection of player deaths using Minecraft’s scoreboard system
  • A cooperative survival mechanic that increases tension and difficulty

Features

  • Plug-and-play installation with no setup required
  • Lightweight implementation with no noticeable performance impact
  • Designed for multiplayer survival, LAN worlds, SMP events, and challenge runs
  • Includes commands to enable or disable Deathlink when needed
  • Suitable for content creators and group challenge gameplay

Usage

  • /function deathlink:enable enables the shared-life mechanic
  • /function deathlink:disable disables the shared-life mechanic

Version support

  • Built for Minecraft 1.21.x and 26.x
  • Tested datapack only on Minecraft 1.21.10 and 1.21.4 and 26.2
