⛏️ DeepMine Tech

Clear the stone. Keep the ore.

DeepMine Tech is a Minecraft NeoForge mod focused on underground exploration, large-scale excavation, ore discovery, cave lighting, lava control, item collection, and safer vertical movement.

Instead of simply adding stronger mining tools, DeepMine Tech introduces seven specialized dark-tech mining utilities, each designed to solve a specific problem encountered while working underground.

Carve enormous tunnels while leaving ores behind. Scan through walls for valuable deposits. Illuminate unexplored caves. Neutralize dangerous lava pockets. Collect nearby drops automatically. Remove unwanted dirt and gravel. Deploy emergency climbing structures when you need a way back up.

⚫ Void Tunneler

The Void Tunneler is the main excavation tool of DeepMine Tech.

Right-click to clear a massive:

20×20×50 block volume

The tunnel is created directly ahead of your view and supports all six directions:

  • North

  • South

  • East

  • West

  • Up

  • Down

But the Void Tunneler is not designed to blindly destroy everything in its path.

Its purpose is simple:

Clear the stone. Keep the ore.

The Tunneler removes only an explicit whitelist of underground filler blocks.

Supported blocks include:

  • Stone

  • Deepslate

  • Granite

  • Diorite

  • Andesite

  • Tuff

  • Calcite

  • Dripstone

  • Cobblestone

  • Cobbled Deepslate

  • Gravel

  • Sand

  • Red Sand

  • Netherrack

  • Basalt

  • Smooth Basalt

  • End Stone

  • Plain Terracotta

Removed filler blocks produce no mining loot and no XP.

💎 Ore Preservation

The Void Tunneler is specifically designed to expose valuable resources instead of destroying them.

It preserves:

  • Tagged ores

  • Ancient Debris

  • Dirt and Grass

  • Trees

  • Crops

  • Fluids

  • Chests

  • Spawners

  • Other block entities

  • Bedrock

  • Portals

  • Other protected blocks

The drill does not automatically collect ores.

Instead, ores remain floating and exposed inside the excavated tunnel so you can mine them separately.

This makes the Void Tunneler useful for quickly opening huge underground areas without sacrificing the resources hidden inside them.

⚙️ Void Tunneler Durability

The Void Tunneler is powerful, but it is not unlimited.

Cooldown: 15 seconds
Uses: 10

It can be repaired in an anvil using:

  • Echo Shards

  • Netherite Ingots

Obsidian removal is also supported as an optional feature.

Obsidian destruction is disabled by default.

📡 Seismic Ore Scanner

The Seismic Ore Scanner is designed for locating valuable resources hidden behind cave walls.

Activate it to send out a sonar-like scanning pulse.

The scanner searches within a:

16-block spherical radius

Detected ores receive visible cyan outlines for 5 seconds.

Default targets include:

  • 💎 Diamond

  • 🟢 Emerald

  • 🟡 Gold

  • 🔵 Lapis

  • Ancient Debris

Supported common ore tags can also allow compatible modded ores to be detected.

Highlights are visible only to the player who activated the scanner.

Cooldown: 30 seconds

🔦 Cave Flare Launcher

Exploring enormous caves often means constantly placing torches.

The Cave Flare Launcher provides another solution.

Fire a glowing flare toward:

  • Cave walls

  • Floors

  • Ceilings

When the flare successfully impacts a valid surface, it anchors itself there for:

60 seconds

The impact also creates a:

Permanent level-15 light block

in adjacent air.

This means the visible flare eventually disappears, while the illumination remains.

Cooldown: 1 second
Ammunition: None required

🧪 Dissolution Gel

The Dissolution Gel is designed for terrain that the Void Tunneler intentionally avoids.

Throw the bottle to dissolve selected soft materials inside a:

5×5×5 area

The gel removes:

  • Dirt variants

  • Sand

  • Red Sand

  • Gravel

Stone and ores remain intact.

Removed material produces no mining drops.

Consumable: Yes
Throw cooldown: 0.5 seconds

Unlike the nature-preserving Void Tunneler, this tool is specifically intended to remove dirt and granular material.

🌋 Lava Neutralizer Sponge

Lava pockets can quickly turn a mining operation into a disaster.

The Lava Neutralizer Sponge allows you to solidify nearby lava without affecting water.

Right-click lava or nearby terrain to scan a:

7×7×7 area

Lava is converted depending on its state:

Lava Source → Obsidian

Flowing Lava → Basalt

Water remains completely untouched.

The Lava Neutralizer Sponge has:

16 uses
1-second cooldown

If no lava is found, or placement is denied, a use is not consumed.

🧲 Miner's Magnetic Ring

The Miner's Magnetic Ring helps collect dropped items while mining large areas.

Hold the ring and use:

Shift + Right Click

to toggle its magnetic field.

Once enabled, the ring works while located in:

  • Main hand

  • Off hand

  • Main inventory

Nearby dropped items within a:

12-block radius

are pulled toward the player.

The enabled state is saved individually for each ring.

When toggled, the ring provides:

  • Action-bar feedback

  • Enchantment-style glint

  • Particles

Multiple rings do not multiply the magnetic effect.

Normal Minecraft mechanics still apply, including:

  • Pickup delays

  • Item ownership rules

  • Terrain collision

🪜 Deployable Rescue Pillar

Sometimes the biggest problem underground isn't getting deeper.

It's getting back out.

The Deployable Rescue Pillar creates an emergency vertical climbing structure.

Right-click the top of a sturdy floor to deploy a:

1×1 column of climbable metal frames

The structure can extend up to:

25 blocks high

Deployment automatically stops when it reaches:

  • An obstacle

  • A blocked position

  • The world height limit

The pillar does not drill through ceilings.

🧗 Climbing the Rescue Pillar

Walk into the hollow center of the deployed frames.

Then:

Hold Jump → Climb upward

Hold Shift → Stay in place

The individual Rescue Frame block can also be placed separately and recovered using a suitable pickaxe.

Consumable: Yes
Cooldown: 1 second

🔨 Crafting the Void Tunneler

The Void Tunneler requires several valuable late-game materials.

🛡️ Configuration & Protection

DeepMine Tech includes server-side options for controlling how the Void Tunneler interacts with the world.

Server settings allow you to:

  • Enable or disable Obsidian removal

  • Exclude Cobblestone

  • Exclude Cobbled Deepslate

  • Exclude Plain Terracotta

  • Preserve recorded player placements

New player-placed blocks can be tracked across world restarts.

This helps reduce the risk of the Void Tunneler destroying player-built structures.

However, there are technical limitations.

Blocks placed before DeepMine Tech was installed, moved by other mechanics, or created using world-editing tools cannot always be reliably identified as player structures.

For important builds, using an area-claiming mod is recommended.

Claim mods must handle the relevant block break/place events for protection to work correctly.

Universal claim-mod compatibility is not guaranteed.

⚠️ Excavation Notes

The Void Tunneler modifies a very large number of blocks instantly.

Because of this, creating large tunnels can cause a brief server tick spike, even though destroyed filler blocks do not generate mining drops.

Nature blocks may also remain floating when surrounding underground filler is removed.

Later Minecraft world updates may cause those blocks to follow their normal support or physics rules.

🎨 Visual Identity
