About

Description

Minecraft deletes items you drop after 5 minutes and never warns you, so you find out by coming back to an empty floor. Despawn Timer HUD puts an item despawn timer above every stack on the ground — a despawn clock that answers "how long until my items disappear", with the stack size next to it. The countdown starts green, drifts through orange as time runs down, and goes red with a discreet pulse for the last ten seconds, so one glance tells you whether to finish the fight or start running. Filter it to only what would actually hurt to lose — diamond and netherite gear, elytras, totems, enchanted books, anything enchanted or renamed — or narrow it further to just your own mining drops. Install it on the server as well and the countdown is exact: Minecraft never tells a client how old a dropped item is, so the server sends the real remaining time. Client-only it still works, but the number becomes an estimate marked with a leading "~" — an upper bound, so an item can go sooner than the timer says and never later — and the mod tells you that instead of passing a guess off as a fact; distance, colour thresholds, the valuables list, the label cap and see-through-walls (off by default) are all configurable. Made with the assistance of AI.
