Description

Diet (Unofficial Port) ⚠️ This is an UNOFFICIAL port of Diet by TheIllusiveC4 / Illusive Soulworks to Minecraft 26.3 / NeoForge. It is not made, endorsed or supported by the original author. Please do not report issues to the original author. Report problems with this port here: https://github.com/DEHUNTER58711/diet-unofficial-port/issues

What it does Diet adds a food-group nutrition system. Every food belongs to one or more groups (fruits, grains, proteins, sugars, vegetables), and eating a balanced diet gives you effects, while a one-sided diet can give harmful ones. Groups, items and effects are fully customizable with data packs and config files.

Required on client AND server Install the mod on both the client and the server. It uses its own network messages, so both sides need this port (the original's versions are not compatible). For singleplayer, the client is enough.

What this port changes compared to the original Based on the original's release 2.1.1 (Minecraft 1.20.1, branch 1.20.x). Rebuilt for Minecraft 26.3 / NeoForge and extended:

New features

Food groups via data packs: besides tags, group files can now list items directly (items / remove), and a new diet/group_entries/ folder in data packs adds or removes items for several groups at once. NeoForge load conditions are supported, so files for mods that aren't installed are skipped. Reworked GUI: Shift + drag the Diet button to move it (the position is saved); the button can be attached to other inventory screens (configurable, e.g. Curios); the panel background is now a sprite that resource packs can replace; an in-game config screen (Mods → Diet → Config). Where effects come from: effects can have titles ("Balanced Diet", "Well Nourished", "Too Much Sugar"). The Diet screen lists each effect with its condition, hovering a group shows its effects, and the inventory effect tooltip shows the source (e.g. "Diet: Too Much Sugar"). An optional action-bar notice appears when a harmful diet effect starts. New config options: foodTooltips (hide the "When eaten" tooltips), creativeBypassesHiddenTooltips and more. All options can be switched off. Bug fixes

remove lists now really remove an item from a group (it no longer gets the group back from its recipe). The death penalty setting works again and diet-server.toml is created reliably: the server config is now one global file, config/diet-server.toml (synced to clients) instead of a per-world file. Other

No longer needs SpectreLib (uses NeoForge's own config system). Same config keys, data format, commands and API as 2.1.1. Data packs written for 2.1.1 keep working (tag folders use the 1.21+ name tags/item/). Mod compatibility Built-in food-group data for TofuCraftReload, Fish of Thieves, UsefulFood Reborn and Ecologics (26.3 NeoForge versions). These files only load when the mod is installed and give that mod's foods sensible groups. Food tags from many other mods are kept from the original.

Requirements & installation Minecraft 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.51-beta or newer, Java 25. Put the jar into the mods folder of the client and the server. No other mods needed. Configs: config/diet-server.toml (global, server) and config/diet-client.toml. Credits, source & license Original mod: Diet by TheIllusiveC4 / Illusive Soulworks.
