Description
Diligent Stalker
The mod introduces remote camera drones, camera arrows, and practical cave vision tools.
What is a "Stalker"?
The core item "StalkerCore" allows the user to transfer their perspective to a target entity upon interaction, enabling real-time surveillance, referred to as StalkerView.
The mod revolves around "stalkers" that provide this perspective. These stalkers bypass chunk limits, loading and rendering surrounding chunks regardless of distance from the user—truly diligent.
Stalker Catalog
DroneStalker
- Nicknamed "Drone Stalker," a controllable entity with a collision box smaller than a slab.
- On interaction, the player's perspective transfers to it, allowing remote exploration of biomes. Controls mimic Creative Mode flight.
- Loads chunks less frequently due to slower movement speed.
- Requires Sugar as Fuel; becomes unusable without energy. Sneak-interact with sugar to refuel.
- Uncontrollable if out of Signal range (configurable).
- Contains a barrel-sized internal inventory (sneak-interact to open). Automatically collects nearby dropped items.
- Unique HUD displays signal status, fuel level, and operator's direction/distance.
- Can remotely interact with blocks (e.g., open doors/chests 1000 blocks away). Opening containers displays its inventory instead of the player's, enabling remote transportation (unstable feature—use with caution).
ArrowStalker
- Nicknamed "Arrow Stalker," a retrievable arrow fired from bows/crossbows.
- Upon firing, the shooter's perspective follows its flight path for cinematic shots.
- Sticking to blocks maintains StalkerView for environmental observation.
- Hitting an entity transfers StalkerView to the target for remote tracking.
- Converts to a dropped item when exiting StalkerView, allowing reuse.
ViodStalker
- Nicknamed "Void Stalker," a gravity- and collision-immune projectile.
- On throw, the user's perspective follows its flight with temporary Night Vision.
- Phases through blocks to scout nearby caves.
- Automatically despawns after 2 seconds.
StalkerMaster
- Not a stalker itself, but a control terminal for DroneStalkers.
- Sneak-interact with a DroneStalker to Record it (binding is permanent but replaceable).
- Item tooltip shows the bound drone's location. When held, HUD displays its direction/distance and signal status.
- Long-press use to instantly switch to its StalkerView, even from 100,000 blocks away.
Notes
- StalkerView exits automatically if the user or stalker dies.
- Unlike Spectator Mode, StalkerView allows free camera rotation, unrestricted by the target's perspective.
- Default chunk loading radius is 3 (configurable). May conflict with chunk optimization mods.
- Stalkers cannot be controlled across dimensions.
- Default R key exits StalkerView (rebindable).
- Uncontrolled stalkers do not force-load chunks or even their own entities.
- Terminal's long-press design prevents chunk-loading bugs; releasing early may cause issues.
- Performance not fully optimized—lag during high-speed StalkerView movement is normal.
- Incompatible with entityculling (blocks first-person movement).
- The name of this mod honors a diligent and voyeuristic community moderator.
