Tired of using Sneak to dismount?

Dismount Key adds a dedicated Dismount keybind, allowing you to dismount from rideable entities without using the Sneak key.

Without Dismount Key vs. With Dismount Key:

This also makes Sneak available for its normal uses while riding, without accidentally dismounting.

Dismount Belt

The optional Dismount Belt gives you even more control over when you can dismount.

Keybinds in the Controls Menu:

Normal Mode

Press the Dismount Belt key to fasten or unfasten the belt.

When the belt is fastened, the Dismount key will not dismount you until you unfasten it.

You can also enable Auto Belt on Mount to automatically fasten the belt whenever you mount an entity.

Two-Key Mode

Want dismounting to require a deliberate action?

In Two-Key Mode, you must hold both the Dismount Belt and Dismount keys at the same time to dismount.

The Dismount Belt can be completely disabled if you only want the main Dismount key.

Configuration

Dismount Key includes a client-side configuration file that lets you customize the mod.

The configuration file is located at:

config/dismount_key-client.toml

Dismount

• "showDismountMessage" — Shows or hides the message displayed when mounting an entity.

Dismount Belt

• "enabled" — Enables or disables the Dismount Belt feature.
• "mode" — Selects the Belt mode:
  • "NORMAL" — Toggle the belt to prevent dismounting.
  • "TWO_KEY" — Require both the Dismount Belt and Dismount keys to dismount.
  • "autoBeltOnMount" — Automatically fastens the belt when mounting. Only applies to Normal Mode.
  • "showBeltMessages" — Shows or hides Dismount Belt messages.

All keybinds can also be changed directly from Minecraft → Options → Controls.
