Description
Don't have any use for your stacks of Obsidian? Prepare to spend that precious resource on a stronger toolset.
This is a set of equipment brought over from my other mod, Domy's Essentials.
Obsidian Overview: Obsidian is a powerful substance, on the level of Netherite. It's Knockback resistance is even higher than Netherite's. It is also more accessible as well as durable. There are some powerful effects/enchantments inherently attuned to the tools. There are some major problems, however. Obsidian cannot be enchanted beyond their base forms, so no Flame Aspect, Protection, or Mending. Obsidian also suffers from being unrepairable, so replacements are all you've got until you reach Netherite. Not only that, but Obsidian Armor can greatly hinder you with its negative effects, despite still being a powerful set of equipment. This is not meant to entirely replace Netherite, but rather become a substitute in times where, say, you need to traverse the End Dimension. Perhaps you've installed way too many mob mods that make your world nearly unbeatable without higher tier gear.
Main Features
Obsidian Armor: This set of armor is specifically built for toughened miners. You also take on burdens of said people. It is on the level of Netherite when it comes to being unable to burn in lava as well as having the same protection (Although there are some huge drawbacks). Each piece has a great negative effect on it. Helmets: Blindness, Chest (Unique Bonus, exclusive to this piece): Mining Fatigue and FULL IMMUNITY FROM FIRE (or Fire Resistance), Leggings: Slowness, Boots: Unluck (Good luck getting that elsewhere).
Obsidian Tools: Unlike the armor set, Obsidian tools have inherent benefits past their flaw of being slower. The pick can offset this by gaining Haste after breaking a block. The axe inflicts Slowness on enemies, allowing for a one-on-one approach. The sword has Sweeping Edge 4, dealing massive damage to a crowd of foes. The shovel removes all effects on you after breaking a block. Lastly, the hoe gains Fortune III after being crafted, being a great asset for farms. However, like the armor, Obsidian tools cannot be enchanted beyond their base forms.
Obsidian/Basalt Dimension: Obsidian Replaces Netherrack, and Basalt Deltas are all that spawn here. On the bright side, you cannot use beds to explode the landscape or respawn there :) . To enter the world, craft an Obsidian Apple and surround it in Glowstone Dust to make the Igniter. Create the portal using Blackstone. If you see weird textures, you've made it.
Obsidian Apple: Grants Slow Fall, Regeneration, Fire Resistance, and Haste for 20 seconds
