Description

DragIt — Drag & Drop Images Into Minecraft

DragIt lets you drag and drop images directly into the game. As long as the dragged item carries a valid file path — whether it's a file from your file explorer, a sticker from a chat app like TencentQQ, or any other drag source that exposes a file — DragIt can handle it. No commands, no complex setup — just drag, drop, and see your images come to life.

Demo

Words alone can hardly do these features justice, so here's a video: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1zRfEBeEeM/

Features

🖼️ Custom Paintings Hover your crosshair over any painting in the world and drag an image file onto the game window. The painting will instantly display your image. Other players on the same server will see it too, and the image persists across sessions — it's saved to the world data automatically.

🪟 Item Frame Images Hover your crosshair over any item frame and drag an image onto the game window. The frame will display your image. Multiple adjacent item frames facing the same direction are detected automatically and treated as a single canvas, so you can build large multi-frame displays with a single drag. Synced to all players and persisted in world data.

💬 Chat Images Open the chat screen and drag an image file onto the game window. The image will appear right in the chat for you and all other online players to see. Hover your mouse over a chat image to enlarge it. Perfect for sharing screenshots, memes, or anything else.

🧑 Custom Skins Open your inventory and drag a PNG skin file onto the game window. Your skin will update immediately for everyone on the server — no Mojang account required, no relaunching needed.

🦸 Custom Capes Switch to third-person view, then open your inventory and drag an image file onto the game window to apply it as your cape. Note that this accepts general image files (PNG, JPG, etc.) rather than the standard Minecraft cape format. The third-person requirement is what distinguishes a cape drag from a skin drag. Synced to all players on the server and saved persistently to world data.

🎬 [NarutoLoading Integration] Loading Screen Video While on the main menu (no world loaded), drag a video file onto the game window to instantly replace NarutoLoading's background video. No need to dig through config files.

📺 [NarutoLoading Integration] In-World Video Screens Hover your crosshair over an item frame that is part of a rectangular item frame grid and drag a video file onto the game window. DragIt will automatically detect the bounds of the grid and set up a NarutoLoading video screen spanning the entire array of frames.

Server Sync & Permissions

DragIt supports server-side syncing so all players can see each other's images, skins, and capes. Server administrators can control who is allowed to sync data using the /dragit command:

  • /dragit whitelist add/remove <player> — Only whitelisted players can sync (when "All" mode is off)
  • /dragit blacklist add/remove <player> — Block specific players from syncing

The common config also lets server operators set a maximum image pixel count to prevent oversized uploads from affecting network performance.

Configuration

Client-side settings (accessible via the Embeddium/Sodium video settings menu) let you tune:

  • Chat image max width & height — Controls how large chat images render on your screen
  • Chat, painting, item frame & cape pixel limits — Limits the resolution of images before they are sent to the server; lower values reduce network usage at the cost of image quality
