🌍 Earth Cube Regrowth

The lost machines of the classic Regrowth modpack, rebuilt for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge), plus a mysterious AI who trades with you as you heal a dead world.

The original Regrowth (Minecraft 1.7.10) relied on mods that no longer exist: Mariculture, Tinkers' Construct, NetherOres, Genetics, Magic Bees, Improved Chests and others. Earth Cube Regrowth brings their machines and mechanics back as one new mod, written from scratch. It aims to behave as closely as possible to the originals, with real interfaces, fluid tanks, energy, JEI recipe pages and datapack-editable recipes.

It was made for the Regrowth: The New World modpack, but every feature also works on its own. Botania, Forestry, Blood Magic, Witchery and Ars Nouveau are optional: the content tied to them switches on only when they are installed.

🪓 A survival start in a dead world

Instead of punching trees, your first steps happen in a barren wasteland.

  • Charred Logs: these burnt trunks break by hand and give charcoal, sticks and wood ash. They are your first fuel and your first sticks.
  • Slate: dig it with a shovel to get flint, then craft Flint tools (pickaxe, axe, shovel and hoe, at stone level) before you have ever seen cobblestone.
  • Unfired Clay Bucket: fire it in a furnace to get your first bucket without any iron.
  • Mysterious Maps: they drop from the undead. Right-click one and it points to the nearest secret structure, with loot chests waiting inside.

Example: you spawn in grey dust next to a dead tree. You break the Charred Log, dig some Slate for flint, craft a Flint Pickaxe, and an hour later you are firing clay into your first bucket.

🔥 Metallurgy: Crucible Furnace and Smeltery

There are no ores on the surface, so metal is something you melt, cast and forge.

  • Crucible Furnace (2 blocks tall):
    • it heats up from 0 to 2,000 °C with real fuel;
    • it melts ores and items into molten metals: iron, gold, copper, tin, osmium, bronze, titanium, magnesium, glass and more;
    • it holds 25,000 mB and shows its temperature and fluid levels on screen.
  • Ingot, block and nugget casters, the Fluid Tank and the Ladle, to pour and store liquid metal.
  • Copper Vat: it mixes fluids and items into new materials. It has 3 tanks.
  • Blacksmith's Anvil and Smithing Hammer: you hammer hot metal into shape, and repair tools in exchange for experience.
  • Seared Smeltery, a Tinkers'-style multiblock:
    • you build it at any size, up to 7×7 inside and as tall as you like;
    • it melts one item per block of floor and alloys bronze automatically;
    • it sucks in items thrown inside, and hurts mobs that fall in;
    • you drain it through a Faucet onto a Casting Table or Casting Basin, with ingot and nugget casts.

Example: you drop raw ore into your Smeltery, watch the molten iron pool at the bottom, then open the faucet and see the ingot cool on the casting table.

💎 Ores hidden in the Nether

  • 15 Nether ores: coal, iron, gold, copper, tin, osmium, diamond, emerald, lapis, redstone, sulfur, saltpetre, rutile, amber and salt. They generate in netherrack, and each one smelts into two normal ores.
  • Mining them is dangerous:
    • zombified piglins in range turn hostile;
    • nearby Nether ores can catch fire and explode in chains;
    • a hellfish may jump out and bite you.
  • Bloomery: it turns iron and sand into Wrought Iron using charcoal, a low-tech way to stretch your metal.
  • Essence Oreberry Bushes: these thorny bushes grow in the world; their berries give experience.

🐟 Fish farming and diving

  • Sifter: throw dirt or sand on it to find baits (ants, grasshoppers, maggots, bees).
  • Fish Feeder: a male and a female fish breed in the water around it. It produces raw fish, bone meal and kelp, and fish age and die over time.
  • Hatchery: it hatches fish eggs into new breeding pairs. It works with vanilla fish and with Aquaculture's.
  • Air Compressor and diving gear:
    • you fill the air tank with energy;
    • the mask and tank keep you breathing with night vision underwater;
    • the wetsuit lets you mine 4× faster underwater;
    • the swim fins give you Dolphin's Grace.

🐝 Bee genetics (with Forestry and Botania)

  • Gene Pool, Incubator and Acclimatiser: these are powered machines with real fluids (growth medium, bacteria, raw DNA). They break bees down into DNA, grow enzymes and larvae, and widen a bee's temperature or humidity tolerance, so your bees can survive in a hostile climate.
  • Magic Bees' flowers come back, powered by Botania mana:
    • the Hiveacynth attracts wild bees;
    • the Hibeescus purifies princesses;
    • the Beegonia turns drones into mana.

🕯️ Witchcraft and blood magic

  • With Witchery:
    • Poppet Shelf: it keeps your poppets working wherever you are, protecting you from death and hunger.
    • Charms: they let you trade with animals, and with demons at a discount.
    • Spectral Stones: each binds up to three spirits that fight for you.
    • Imps: you tame them with a contract and gifts, and they bring you presents.
    • Witch hunters come for powerful arcanists at night.
  • With Blood Magic:
    • the Altar Diviner feeds your Blood Altar automatically;
    • Botanical and Arcane knives turn your health and mana into Life Essence;
    • Mana and Arcane slates link Blood Magic with Botania and Ars Nouveau.

📦 Storage and building

  • Improved Chests (27 slots) and Iron Improved Chests (54 slots).
  • Chest upgrades:
    • the Hopper upgrade pulls and pushes items;
    • the Security upgrade means only the owner can open the chest;
    • the Size upgrade enlarges a chest and keeps its contents.
  • Chest Converter: it turns a vanilla chest into an improved one, contents included.
  • Block Painter and Paintbrush: they repaint any improved chest with 16 looks.
  • Super Crafting Frame: set a recipe once, then craft from the inventories around it.
  • Compartment: 4 named tabs of 25 slots, one per side.
  • Similsax Transtructor: it extends a line of blocks up to 16 at a time.

🤖 MNÉMOS: the AI of the Circle

The Ancient Terminal is a 3×2 moss-covered sanctuary where the AI MNÉMOS sleeps, with a floating orb whose eye follows you. Feed it fuel or energy and it wakes up.

  • Trades: over 110 offers that unlock as you progress through the modpack's quest chapters (FTB Quests; without it, everything is open). There is a gold offer of the day with a doubled result.
  • Daily orders: each day MNÉMOS asks you for 3 deliveries suited to your progress. They pay items and reputation, and the 10th, 25th, 50th and 100th delivery each unlock a secret archive.
  • Archives: 20 memories that tell the story of the world from MNÉMOS's point of view, unlocked chapter after chapter.
  • A living character: more than 150 lines that react to the night, the rain, storms, the Moon and Mars, the Nether, your reputation and your absence. You can press Talk for memories and advice.
  • Player market: you list an item and set a price, then other players buy it from any terminal. Your payment waits in your mailbox.
  • Reputations and talents: completing quests and orders earns Mechanist, Arcanist and Geneticist reputation. Each rank gives a point to spend in that faction's talent tree, which has 24 talents in all. For example:
    • Long Arm: reach one block further.
    • Prospector: ores sometimes drop twice their loot.
    • Night Eye: see in the dark.
    • Second Life: survive one deadly blow per day.
    • Green Thumb and Growth Aura: plants grow faster around you.
    • Energy Saver and Circle Engineer: cheaper and more frequent trades with MNÉMOS.
  • Interface: full-screen, in French or English with a single button, independent of the game language.

🔌 Compatibility

  • JEI: recipe categories for melting, casting, the vat, the anvil, the bloomery, the sifter and the bee machines.
  • Energy: the machines accept Forge Energy (FE) from any mod.
  • Recipes: all machine recipes are data (regrowth:melting, regrowth:alloy, regrowth:table_casting, regrowth:bloomery, regrowth:sifter…), so modpacks can change them with datapacks or KubeJS.
  • Optional mods: Botania, Forestry, Blood Magic, Witchery, Ars Nouveau, Mekanism, Aquaculture and FTB Quests. Without them, the related content stays dormant and nothing crashes.
  • Languages: English and French.
