Easy Chat

Easy Chat helps Chinese-speaking players communicate in English through offline voice input and player chat translation.

Features

• Chinese voice to English chat: Hold your talk key and speak Chinese. Paraformer recognizes your speech, then OPUS-MT translates it into English.

• English player chat to Chinese: Keep the original message and display its Chinese translation underneath when ready. Translations are visible only to you.

• Microphone controls: Select your microphone and test its input level.

• Custom key bindings: Use a keyboard key or mouse side button to talk.

• Sending options: Send the translated text automatically, or place it in the chat box for review before sending.

• Offline processing: Default models and inference libraries are included. No paid API, account, or cloud service is required.

Compatibility and installation

Currently supports Minecraft 1.8.9 with Forge on Windows 64-bit. It has also been tested with Lunar Client’s Forge 1.8.9 profile.

Place the downloaded JAR in your active Forge mods folder. Do not extract it. This is a client-side mod; no server installation is required.

Default controls:

• Hold V to speak.

• Press P, or enter /easychat, to open settings.

Models are extracted into the easychat folder inside your active game directory and reused across mod updates. The complete package is approximately 362 MiB because it includes offline models and native libraries. Inference currently runs on the CPU.

Limitations

Version 0.1.0 is an early release. Speech recognition and translation may make mistakes, especially with player names, slang, abbreviations, and game terminology.

Incoming translation recognizes supported player chat formats and skips your own messages and server notifications. Some custom server formats may not be recognized.

Credits and licensing

Speech recognition uses Paraformer, provided by Alibaba DAMO Academy / FunASR, with an ONNX conversion by Fangjun Kuang / k2-fsa. Translation uses OPUS-MT from Helsinki-NLP, with ONNX conversions by Xenova.

Original project code is MIT licensed, except the separately attributed Apache-2.0 C API mapping. Third-party components retain their own licenses, including Apache-2.0 and CC BY 4.0 for the respective translation models. Full notices are included in the JAR and source repository.

Development was assisted by OpenAI Codex. The project icon is AI-generated artwork, not an in-game screenshot.

Easy Chat 是一个帮助中文玩家与英文玩家交流的离线语音与聊天翻译模组。

默认按键：

模型会释放到实际游戏目录下的 easychat 文件夹，有效缓存会在更新模组后继续复用。完整包约 362 MiB，因为包含离线模型和本地推理库。目前使用 CPU 推理。

已知限制

0.1.0 是早期版本。玩家名字、网络缩写、口语和游戏术语可能识别或翻译不准确。

接收翻译根据玩家聊天格式判断，跳过自己的消息及服务器通知。部分自定义服务器聊天格式可能无法识别。
