Echo Gates: Ancient City Fast Travel

Echo Gates is a mod that adds a use to the Anicent City Portal Frames by bringing a fast travel waypoint system to Minecraft using materials found in the Deep Dark. Find vanilla portal frames in Ancient Cities, then activate them with a new item: the Sculk Heart.

This mod is also highly configurable, such as allowing travel across dimensions, configuring XP or item costs for travel, and more!

Crafting Sculk Hearts

Craft a Sculk Heart by combining an Echo Shard, an Ender Pearl, and any Raw Meat (or Rotten Flesh).

Activating Echo Gates

Use a Sculk Heart on a dormant Ancient City Portal to activate it and create an Echo Gate.

Using Echo Gates

Entering an active gate opens a menu listing every other activated Echo Gate. Select a destination to travel there instantly.

Rename a name tag in an anvil and use it on an active gate to give that gate a permanent name. Named gates display their names and coordinates in the destination menu, while unnamed gates display coordinates only.

Mobs, dropped items, vehicles, and other non-player entities are sent to a random valid gate (configurable). Gates do not need to already be chunk-loaded, and destroyed or invalid destinations are automatically removed from the network when detected.

Breaking the portal or its frame deactivates the gate and removes it from the travel network (although both blocks are unbreakable in survival by default).

Custom Portal Frames

Echo Gates can be created from any rectangular Reinforced Deepslate frame (similar to Nether portals). Since Reinforced Deepslate isn't obtainable in vanilla survival, this method of portal creation is intended for modpacks that provide ways to acquire or craft it.
