This mod original author is Elucent and (most if not) all the assets as of 0.3.x versions are made by him. Most of the content made between the old 1.16 mod and this port was left unfinished after he lost interest in Minecraft.
As the old plans for the new content were very foggy and not disclosed in depth, i've followed the few toughts he left but ultimately backtracked on some stuff and simplified a lot that big scheme to a more humble but fun mod.
There won't be many additions planned after the refinement of the holy path items, few more spells and a more usable research system, mostly due to the hard to replicate art-style and game design of Elucent.
Feel free to reach out if you want to make an addon for this version of Eidolon, i'm open to changes in the api to make things easier to add compared to the older version.
Quick summary of additions in version 0.3.0 from Elucent's alphas ✨:
- Silver Armor & Tools: Unearthed from the mystical depths, alongside the ongoing lead ore generation. Silver sets undead on fire, dealing more damage.
- Rituals for Wand Recharging: Rituals to recharge your wands durability.
- Ravens and Slugs: Tame ravens with the allure of beetroot seeds; nurture slugs with the tasty pumpkin seeds. Witness ravens shedding feathers, without the need of killing.
- Raven Cloak - Embrace the transformative cloak, unfolding into majestic wings allowing multiple jumps, short and quick elytra glides, or serene slow falls.
- Ethereal Hearts & Equipment: Embrace the power of soulbone amulets and bonelord armor, granting increased vitality.
- Archangel Sight Ring - Never miss a target again with this ring that will guide your arrows.
- Summoning Staff: Command the undead through capturing rituals or thrall spells, building an army of loyal minions to aid your fights.
- Necromancer: A formidable foe summoning the undead and wielding arcane projectiles, presenting the summoning staff upon final confrontation in the final waves of a village raid.
- New plants and decorative blocks: mainly cosmetic as their planned use was lost. Plants might be used to make different kinds of incense but plans still have to be drafted.
Repraised Exclusive Feature🌿:
- Upgraded Chant Visuals and spells: While keeping elucent's graphic improvements for chants, it defies from his plans of an intricate puzzle spellcrafting and streamlines to fixed spells with sign combinations .Renew mana through sacred prayers or offerings.
- Research System: Initially a core of progression, now a gateway to unraveling few utility spells. Still WIP as it have potential for addon expansions and more spells.
- Holy Path: A more peaceful alternative to the dark lord, still lacking of themed relics in comparison to the classic path. Support and healing spells may benefit grave clerics or paladins, as opposed to the bloody warlocks and necromancers of the dark path.
- Incenses (?) : A planned feature for the both paths to use incense burner and plants to have an effect on an area for a short time, quicker to setup than a ritual.
Progression regarding the dark path is almost unchanged, start by giving the Ars Ecclesia to a Witch and then start praying at an altar with an effigy, while holy path does the same with a Cleric villager.
Extra QoL changes for this port🌟:
- Synced Codex Recipes: Codex recipes synchronize with the actual recipe as long as the type matches. Planned support for recipe type changes akin to Patchouli.
- Datapackable Crucible and Worktable Recipes: Crucible can be heated by blocks in the
eidolon:crucible_hot_blockstag, compatible with campfire-like blocks. - Dyed Warlock Armors: Added tweak from Hexblades. No plans for vanilla or custom trimming currently.
- Datapackable Rituals: Modify existing rituals or introduce new ones for crafting, summoning, or executing arbitrary commands.
DO NOT REPORT BUGS OR QUESTIONS TO THE ORIGINAL DISCORD OF EIDOLON, since this is an unofficial port it would simply dirty elu's discord with questions that can'be answered.
Only requirements is Curios. No ports to older versions or modloaders will be done.

Introduction
Eidolon is a magic mod, originally made by Elucent for 1.16, that draws on a lot of different inspirations, with aspects of alchemy and theurgy. It takes a bit of a dark perspective, also featuring mechanics themed around necromancy and soul manipulation. If you have ever wanted to roleplay as a dark mage, performing strange rituals and communing with dark gods, this is the mod for you. As of the 0.3 update, you might also try to play as a light cleric, but most of the mod still orbit around the dark path.
To get started with Eidolon, craft the Ars Ecclesia:

This book contains documentation of all the mod's features, including crafting recipes. It won't adapt to custom recipes or recipe removals!

Rituals

Using shards of pure soul energy, activate powerful rituals at the brazier. Create new items, summon monsters, and ward huge areas from hostile creatures.
Theurgy

Build an altar and pray to the dark or the light lord. Perform sacrifices, upgrade your altar, improve your reputation with them, and they might reveal to you new knowledge or grant you new abilities...
Artifice

Perform alchemy at the crucible, and tinker with magic items at a new workbench. Using soul shards and a huge variety of other ingredients, take your pick of a large selection of magical weapons, tools, armor, and curios.

Quick resume of added content with 0.3.0 :
- Silver Armor & tools, in addition to previous lead oregen.
- Rituals to recharge your wands.
- Ravens and Slugs. Tame a raven with beetroot seeds, breed slugs with pumpkin seeds. Raven can shed feathers.
- Ethereal Hearts & equips: The soulbone amulet and bonelord armor gives additional max health when an enemy is killed. The armor set is currently not craftable, but both are functional.
- Archangel Sight Ring - Never miss a target again with this ring that will guide your arrows.
- Raven Cloak - A cloak that becomes a majestic pair of wings to allow you to jump multiple times, glide or slowfall.
- Summoning Staff - Use with the capturing ritual or the thrall spell to subdue undeads to your control and summon them when needed to help you.
- Necromancer - Currently a raid boss that will summon undeads and shoot magic projectiles, will appear in the final waves to drop the summoning staff
Main changes exclusive to this port :
- Recipes in the codex will be synced to the actual recipe as long as the recipe type is the same, instead of being hardcoded. Patchouli-like support for recipe type changes is planned atm.
- Crucible and Worktable recipes are datapackable. Crucible can be heated by any block in the eidolon:crucible_hot_blocks tag, all campfire-like blocks are also compatible by default.
- Dyed Warlock Armors, another little tweak from hexblades. No vanilla nor custom trimming is planned at the moment.
- Rituals are datapackable too, change the recipe of any existing ritual and add new one for crafting, summoning or using a new ritual that can execute an arbitrary command.
As continue of Elu's old stuff:
- Upgraded chant visuals. They were planned to become a way more complex spellcasting puzzle, but i've simplified them to a basic spell system to keep prayers important after the symbol for crafting has been obtained. Mana for spells is restored by praying or offering.
- Research System: Planned as main component of the new progression, now it will be just a way to discover two spells using the known signs. Still WIP.
- Holy Path: Alternative to the dark lord, currently not exclusive, but still WIP as it lacks themed items.
