Description

Electra

Catch lightning. Wire your world. Build the factory yourself.

Electra is a vanilla+ tech mod about real, physical electricity. Copper cables run through your base, storms and magnets power your generators, lamps and logic gates show what your network is doing — and every machine works right in front of you. Nothing disappears into an abstract network.

Electra doesn't give you a perfect factory. It gives you the building blocks — and you do the engineering.

The mod provides the tools. The player provides the engineering.

Why Electra?

  • Electricity you can touch. Bare copper wire is dangerous — walk into a live cable and you'll feel it. Insulate it with wool to stay safe.
  • Everything stays visible. Cables exist in the world, chests stay chests, generators move, lamps light up. Your factory is something you can walk through.
  • Complexity is optional. Power a single furnace in five minutes, or build control panels, signal systems and full industrial networks. Your call.
  • Every material has a role. Copper, Rose Gold and Red Iron each do something the others can't — nothing makes the previous tier obsolete.
  • Modpack-friendly. Standard Forge Energy (FE), compatible with Mekanism, Create, Thermal and any other FE mod. JEI and Jade supported.

Produce energy

  • Lightning Collector — put a lightning rod on top and let the storm charge it. Every strike stores 5,000 FE.
  • Redstone Dynamo — your first continuous power source. Build a ring of redstone, hook a Red Iron block to the Dynamo's arm, give it a signal, and watch the magnet spin.

Move it

  • Bare Wire — cheap, connects to everything… and electrocutes anything that touches it while powered.
  • Insulated Wire — wrapped in wool, safe, and available in 16 colours. Each colour forms its own network, so you can run separate lines side by side.
  • Cut a cable and the power really stops: networks drain once nothing feeds them.

Use it

  • Advanced Furnace — an electric furnace that smelts anything and alloys two materials together: Rose Gold (copper + gold), Red Iron (iron + redstone).
  • Hopper-friendly, and its alloy recipes show up in JEI.

Control it

  • FE logic gates — AND, OR (switchable to XOR), NOT, an Energy Switch and an adjustable Energy Clock. Electricity itself is the signal: no redstone needed.
  • Redstone Converter — turns a powered network into a redstone signal, for everything vanilla.

See it

  • Electric Lamps — dye them in any colour; touching lamps merge into a single glowing panel and share their power.
  • Lamp stickers — put letters, numbers, tools, items, signs or mob faces on your lamps, each in its own colour. Label your machines, build a scoreboard, or write your base's name in lights.
  • Energy Meter — look at any FE block, from Electra or any other mod, to read its charge.

Built to be tuned

A server config file lets you adjust capacities, transfer rates, energy costs, generator speed and even how hard bare wire hits. All recipes, models and loot tables are standard data, easy to tweak with datapacks.

What's next

Electra is growing update by update. On the roadmap: a stronger late-game reactor, a physical storage network, Rose Gold golems that automate your work, wireless signals, powered rails and more. Follow along — and help shape it — on Discord.

Beta notice

Electra is in beta (0.2.0). Expect bugs, balance changes, and maybe the occasional world-breaking change between versions. Back up your worlds and please report anything strange!
