Description

Particle Accelerator Elytra

Toggle Particle Accelerator on with its own key, then glide with an elytra while holding fireworks and you'll accelerate exponentially, with no ceiling, for as long as it's on. This mod removes vanilla's elytra speed limit and lets you find out exactly how fast is too fast.

Features

  • Its own toggle key — appears under its own "Particle Accelerator" category in Options > Controls > Key Binds (unbound by default, bind whatever you like). Press once for ON, again for OFF — an on-screen message confirms it, "ON" in green / "OFF" in red, the same style as Do a Barrel Roll's own toggle notification.

  • On by default, remembered across restarts — a fresh install starts enabled, and your last choice is saved locally and restored next launch. It also turns itself off automatically when you die, so you never respawn mid-boost.

  • Only propels you while holding fireworks — the boost only kicks in while the toggle is on, you're gliding, and a firework rocket is your selected item.

  • Smooth exponential acceleration — extra acceleration is added on top of whatever velocity vanilla/fireworks already gave you, never overriding your launch, just compounding on top of it every tick. There's no cap. Let go of fireworks or turn the toggle off and your speed decays exactly the way vanilla elytra drag normally decays it.

  • No speed limit — automatically disables vanilla's elytra_movement_check game rule on server start, so the anti-cheat "moved too quickly" rubber-band doesn't undo your speed.

  • Reliable crash detection even at absurd speed — vanilla's single giant per-tick collision check can miss a wall entirely once you're going fast enough; this mod breaks it into safe steps so impacts are still detected.

  • A death message that fits — slam into a wall while particle-accelerated and you get:

<Player> was turned into a pancake whilst being particle accelerated

Regular, non-boosted elytra crashes still show vanilla's normal message.

  • Do a Barrel Roll compatible — only touches camera/rotation rendering, never flight physics, so it runs alongside this mod with zero conflicts.

Known issue: brief freezes while boosting

Short stutters while boosting are the server thread waiting on chunk generation — at these speeds you can easily outrun normal world generation. This isn't something the mod can silently fix, since it's a fundamental "how fast can Minecraft generate terrain" limit. Recommended companion mod: C2ME (Concurrent Chunk Management Engine), which parallelizes chunk generation across CPU cores and is the standard fix for exactly this. Pre-generating your world along your flight path also works well.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader, Fabric API

Important: install this on the server too

26.2's movement is server-authoritative, so a client-only speed mod can't work here — install it server-side too, or it'll only function in singleplayer.
