🔥 Evolving Furnace

Turn a simple furnace into an incredibly powerful futuristic machine!

The Evolving Furnace gains experience whenever it successfully smelts an item. As it levels up, it becomes faster, uses fuel more efficiently, unlocks a new appearance, and eventually reaches the power to process an entire stack in a single tick.

📈 Level Progression

The furnace requires 180 successful smelts per level.

Because the furnace becomes faster after every upgrade, reaching level 10 takes approximately one hour of continuous real-time smelting.

At level 10, the furnace reaches its final form and can process up to 64 items per tick, provided that enough input, fuel, and output space are available.

Every level changes the furnace’s appearance:

1. Rough stone

2. Reinforced stone

3. Industrial iron

4. Steel and copper

5. Dark heat-resistant alloy

6. Advanced blue circuitry

7. Cyan plasma technology

8. Purple energy conduits

9. White-blue quantum machinery

10. Super-futuristic cyan and magenta reactor

Only the front contains the furnace opening. The top, back, and sides use their own matching technological textures.

📦 Side Configuration and Automation

Open the furnace interface and press the I/O button to configure its six sides:

• U — Up

• D — Down

• L — Left

• R — Right

• F — Front

• B — Back

Each side can be assigned one of four modes:

• 🟧 Auto Input — Pulls smeltable items from an adjacent inventory

• 🟦 Auto Output — Sends finished products to an adjacent inventory

• 🟪 Fuel — Pulls valid furnace fuel

• ⬛ Off — Disables item transfer on that side

Left and right are determined while looking directly at the front of the furnace. All sides are disabled when a new furnace is placed.

The configuration works with adjacent chests and exposes the correct NeoForge item capabilities for compatible pipes and automation mods.

⛽ Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency increases by 25% per level.

At level 10, fuel lasts 3.25 times longer than it does in a regular furnace. This bonus combines with the furnace’s increasing speed, making the final levels extremely powerful while still requiring progression and infrastructure.

🧪 Creative Testing

Players in Creative Mode receive access to a special + button inside the interface.

The button instantly advances the furnace by one level, allowing modpack developers and testers to inspect every speed tier and visual design without completing the full progression.

The server verifies that the player is actually in Creative Mode, so the feature cannot be used in Survival.

🛠️ Crafting Recipe

The Evolving Furnace is crafted using:

• 1 Furnace

• 7 Iron Ingots

• 1 Redstone Dust

The recipe is a standard Minecraft crafting recipe and is automatically displayed by compatible recipe viewers such as JEI and REI.

Breaking and replacing the furnace currently resets its machine progression, so choose its location carefully before beginning the journey to level 10.
