About

Description

Adds a new set of trades for things related to Marine creatures and travel - using new Villager Trade datapack features added in 26.1. Fully server-side, no installation on the client required.

IMPORTANT:

Due to limitations of this Vanilla method this is not a true brand new profession with its own block and mechanics. What it does is replace Vanilla profession trades with those ones, but only under certain conditions. If you dont do it correctly you wont get every trade!

HOW TO ACCESS THE TRADES:

Rename a Villager to "evp_seafarer" using a Name Tag, then make them become Cartographer by claiming a Cartography Table block. It is important you do it in that order, otherwise Level 1 trades wont be replaced. Existing trades wont be modified!

List of trades

Level 1:

  • Emerald -> Ink Sac
  • Emerald -> Tropical Fish

Level 2:

  • Iron Nugget -> Emerald
  • Emerald -> Prismarine Shard

Level 3:

  • Beetroot -> Emerald
  • Bread -> Emerald
  • Carrot -> Emerald
  • Potato -> Emerald

Level 4:

  • Emerald -> Glow Ink Sac
  • Emerald -> Sponge

Level 5:

  • Emerald -> Sea Lantern

OPTIONAL:

Currently this datapack lacks assets. Villagers will look like normal Cartographers and their names wont be translated. WIP, sorry!

UPDATES

Unfortunately when updating any changes to the existing trades wont be applied. That means if trades are changed in any way you will need to get a new villager to see them.

If you dont want to kill your villagers, there are handy commands to reset them, as below:

UNINSTALLING

If you wish to uninstall the datapack, run this command (operator priveleges required):

/function evp_seafarer:uninstall

It will reset every loaded Seafarer to its original state.

Otherwise, you can run this command for a global uninstallation:

/function evp:uninstall

It will reset every loaded EVP series villager to its original state.

There is also an admin-only debug command that fully resets nearest Seafarer villager:

/function evp_seafarer:reset_nearest

Other EVP datapacks:
