XP Storage

This is a lightweight Minecraft mod that adds a portable XP Book for safely storing, retrieving, and sharing your experience points.

No more losing valuable XP because you died — put it in a book and carry or store it wherever you want.

Features

+ XP Book

• Stores your Minecraft experience as exact XP points.
• Displays the stored XP amount and equivalent levels.
• XP is saved directly with the book and persists through:
  • Dropping the book
  • Chests and other containers
  • Server restarts
  • Player logout/login
• Supports very large amounts of XP without an artificial level-based limit.

+ Store XP

• Open the XP Book to see your current XP and the book's stored XP.
• Choose exactly how much XP you want to deposit.
• Store All lets you transfer all available XP at once.
• You can never deposit more XP than you currently have.

+ Retrieve XP

• Choose exactly how much XP you want to withdraw.
• Retrieve All withdraws all XP stored in the book.
• You can never withdraw more XP than the book contains.
• Retrieved XP is correctly converted into Minecraft levels and progress.

+ Private & Public Books

Every XP Book has an ownership system.

Private

• Only the owner can use the book.
• Other players cannot withdraw, deposit, or modify it.
• Ideal for personal XP storage.

Public

• Anyone can use the book.
• Useful for shared storage on multiplayer servers.

The book clearly shows its owner and current privacy status.

Safe Multiplayer Usage

XP transactions are handled server-side to help prevent:

• XP duplication
• Double withdrawals
• Negative XP values
• Client-side manipulation
• Invalid transfers
• XP loss caused by rapid interaction

The stored XP belongs to the book itself rather than being tied to a temporary session.

Installation

1. Install the required Minecraft version.
2. Install Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
3. Download the appropriate XP Storage version.
4. Place the .jar file into your Minecraft mods folder.
5. Launch Minecraft with the Forge profile.

Always use the XP Storage version that matches your Minecraft version and mod loader.

Compatibility

XP Storage is designed with compatibility and portability in mind.

The primary development target is:

Minecraft 1.19.2

Additional Minecraft versions are supported through separate releases where available.

Only Minecraft versions listed on the Versions section of this project should be considered officially supported.

For Modpack Developers

XP Storage is designed to be lightweight and suitable for both small survival worlds and larger modpacks.

It does not require a complicated progression system and focuses on one thing:
