Description

Minecraft Extremo 3 Adapted Mod

⚠️ Actively in development (v0.1.1) — expect changes and bugs. Please report any you find.

Server-side mod for Fabric (Minecraft 26.2) — required on both the server and every client. It turns a normal survival game into a day-by-day difficulty escalation: every so often, new Sulfuric variants of vanilla mobs show up, each one stronger and with its own special ability, until the season ends in a battle-royale-style Final Round.

Required dependencies

Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, Fabric API, GeckoLib, and Java 25+ — required on both the server and every client.

Main features

  • Growing Sulfuric mob family (still expanding — some existing mobs still need their own custom 3D model): zombie, skeleton, creeper, cow, pig, chicken, rabbit, drowned, husk, slime, zombified piglin, warden, blaze, ghast, magma cube, piglin, piglin brute, wither skeleton, hoglin, zoglin and more — each with its own ability (applying effects, exploding, breaking blocks, flying…), scaled stats and special drops, all revealed gradually as the season's days go by.
  • Daily mission system, some of them mandatory — failing to finish one before the day ends costs you a life.
  • Real lives (not just hearts): a Danger Level after eliminating another player, with permanently broken hearts and a real cooldown.
  • PVP with Vengeance: getting eliminated opens a chase with its own compass and HUD panels for both hunter and hunted.
  • Protection Core: a placeable block that protects an area from breaking/placing blocks and explosions, fueled with Coins — with a permanently clear gap around it so it can never be fully hidden.
  • Shared waypoints, with a custom icon (emoji or item), visible in the world and/or on the compass.
  • Custom ambient music per zone or per player: drop .ogg files in the world's musica/ folder and the mod packages them into a real Minecraft resourcepack (official protocol — hash-verified, with the client's own consent prompt), no need to recompile the mod. Automatic delivery on join is off by default (/music autopack); otherwise grab the generated .zip yourself from that same folder and hand it out however you like.
  • Custom HUD: hearts, balance, compass, Vengeance panel, kill-feed, an active-mobs gallery with each mob's debut day, custom effects…
  • Configurable spawn-protection zone, WorldGuard-style (mark a region + extra buffer distance).
  • Final Round: end-of-season event — everyone drops to one life, forced PVP, and the world border closes in phases until only one survivor remains.

Config files

All of them live inside each world's save folder, under extremo3/ — they're generated automatically with default values the first time the server starts, no need to create them by hand.

  • escalada.json — catalog of Sulfuric mob tiers (debut day, stats, special ability, drops).
  • misiones.json — catalog of daily missions (mandatory or optional).
  • worldborder.json — closing phases of the Final Round's world border (size/duration of each stage).
  • drops.json — special-chest event settings (radius, spawn range…).
  • config.json — general settings: PVP, lives, Protection Core, Vengeance, Danger Level, dimension blocking, ambient music server…
  • anuncio.json, temporada.json, nexo_estado.json, waypoints.json, bloqueos.json, banco.json, candados.json, maquinas_estado.json, maquinas_custom.json, vidas.json, peligrosidad_jugadores.json, misiones_jugadores.json — internal world state (progress, current day, placed Cores, waypoints, active blocks, lives, Danger Level, per-player mission progress…); no need to touch these by hand.

Changelog

v0.1.1 — Nether mobs, Drop overhaul & persistence fixes

  • Added 8 new Sulfuric Nether mobs: Blaze, Ghast, Magma Cube, Piglin, Piglin Brute, Wither Skeleton, Hoglin and Zoglin, each with its own ability (debuting days 3-6). Blocked the Strider (no longer spawns).
  • Lives, permanent broken hearts, Danger Level and daily mission progress now survive closing/reopening a world or restarting the server (were memory-only before). Also fixed the extra-life-from-armor bonus disappearing after death until re-equipping the armor.
  • Drop event: wave mobs now spawn near the chest (not anywhere in the whole zone), no longer get stuck/suffocate inside terrain, and the wave pool now draws from the whole Sulfuric family (day-gated) instead of a fixed list of 3. Added /drop auto on|off, plus Vampiric Strength Potion and Liquid Totem to the loot (low chance). The reference Drop structure is now bundled inside the mod itself — no world file needed unless you want to use your own instead.
  • Added /vengeance restorelife on|off (off by default): optionally restores a life when you kill your own killer, closing your Vengeance.
  • Fixed a crash when opening any inventory (a missing enchantment registry entry could bring down the whole game instead of just skipping the affected item).
  • Blocked items (Spears, Totem of Undying) can no longer deal damage or save you from death while blocked — blocking now covers passive effects too, not just crafting/placing/using.
  • Waypoint creation/editing is now admin-only; /waypoint list (viewing) stays open to everyone.
  • Rebalanced coin rewards on daily missions (days 2-13, ~20% lower).
  • Fixed long death messages (e.g. fall damage) overflowing the kill-feed card.
  • Documented GeckoLib as a required dependency.
  • Fixed a Trading Machine duplication bug: rapidly shift-clicking the result slot granted the item for free without deducting payment.
  • Fixed the Trading Machine's customize screen: outline no longer mismatches the real slot hitbox, and items no longer fail to drop near the edge of the screen.
  • Rebuilt all banner animations (Life Lost, Eliminated, PVP on/off, Difficulty change) as real animated GIFs instead of sprite sheets — properly centered, correct size, no more garbled textures or a top-left-shifted image, and the phrase now sits right below the animation instead of floating with a gap. Also fixed a terrain-loading freeze caused by decoding these on the main thread.
  • Death banners: the victim now sees "You lost a life" / "You lost all your lives", while everyone else sees the third-person version — both share the same animation. The elimination sound is now louder and plays to every player, not just the victim.
  • Added /day skipmob (admin): reveals the next pending "New Creature" of the day immediately, one at a time, restarting that slot's normal wait for whatever's queued after it.
  • Fixed a bug where a fully eliminated player stayed alive/interactable for a few seconds before actually switching to spectator.
  • Lowered the difficulty/mob-reveal sound's volume.
  • Added a new PVP-activation GIF, replacing the last sprite-sheet-based banner — all 6 banner types now use the same animated-GIF system.
  • Added initial compatibility with Xaero's Minimap / World Map (fully optional, only if installed): the mod's own waypoints now also show up on Xaero's map automatically.
  • Rewrote the entire daily mission catalog (all 13 days): no more repeated objectives anywhere in the season, and every mandatory mission now uses a safe, always-achievable target (no rare structures/biomes, no enchantment-RNG dependencies).
  • Fixed a race where a player's own waypoints wouldn't show up on Xaero's map right after joining (the sync ran once, too early, before the server's waypoint catalog had arrived, and never retried).
  • Added optional Xaero "fair play" support (only if Xaero's Minimap is also installed server-side): every player automatically gets "No Entity Radar" (can't see players/mobs as dots on the map) at all times, plus "No Cave Maps" (doesn't reveal unexplored caves) available via the new /xaero cave on|off (admin) — off by default.
  • Fixed those same effects showing a giant hour count instead of the ∞ symbol in the inventory screen.
  • Fixed a bug where the word "Defecto" ("Default") would flash or get stuck floating in the world when Xaero's Minimap was also installed — caused by the waypoint sync rebuilding Xaero's entire third-party waypoint set on every retry instead of only what actually changed.
  • Added /xaero minimap on|off (admin, on by default): toggles the new "No Minimap" fair-play effect, alongside the existing /xaero cave on|off. Both are now hidden from the inventory effects screen (the always-on "No Entity Radar" effect stays visible).
  • Drop events now place a shared waypoint at the chest the moment the event starts, and remove it automatically the moment it ends (works with or without Xaero installed).
  • Automatic Drop events are now capped at 3 per in-game day (the manual /drop start command is never limited).
  • Vampiric Strength Potion's duration shortened from 3 minutes to 30 seconds.
  • Added a new mob: Sulfuric Bat — bigger, tougher and more aggressive than a normal bat (with a proper hitbox and search range to match), spawns in caves and on the surface, debuting day 2. Applies Hunger on hit and sometimes a new Bleeding effect, and drops a Bat Ear. The Gelatinous Sulfur Cube now debuts day 1 (right after the Blind Warden) instead of day 2.
  • Fixed the "life lost" sound playing twice to the victim on a non-final death — it's now heard once by the victim, and separately by every other player watching.
  • Fixed the Trading Machine losing all enchantments, potion effects and custom lore on any custom trade — both ingredients and the result now keep their exact item data instead of being rebuilt as a plain, unenchanted item.
  • Fixed a residual Drop lag/freeze: when no custom schematic is configured, placing the ore veins and the vanilla structure now pre-loads every chunk they touch asynchronously first, instead of only the chest's own chunk (a neighboring un-generated chunk could still trigger a synchronous terrain-generation freeze).
  • The Drop's waypoint now shows in orange on the compass, instead of the default green used by regular waypoints.
  • Drop schematics without their own floor now get a forced grass floor placed under the whole footprint, instead of leaving whatever terrain (or a hole) happened to be there.
  • Drop events that nobody starts (no one clicks the chest) within 30 minutes of appearing now cancel themselves automatically — configurable via drops.json.
  • Sulfuric Bat: fixed it not actually attacking (it now flies straight at its target instead of just wandering randomly and hoping to bump into you), its hitbox now matches its real visual position, and it settles near the player once in range instead of repeatedly overshooting and circling around. Its hitbox has also been enlarged to make it easier to hit.
  • Added the Sulfuric Bat and the 8 Nether Sulfuric mobs to /sulfuric <type> — they were missing from the manual-spawn list.
  • Fixed the Sulfuric Bat's name showing as a raw untranslated key in death messages, and added a missing icon for the Bleeding effect.
  • Added /xaero waypoints on|off (admin, on by default): blocks players from creating their own Xaero waypoints, including the automatic death point.
  • The "No Waypoints" fair-play effect is now also hidden from the inventory effects screen, same as "No Cave Maps"/"No Minimap".
  • Sulfuric Bat: raised its health further, and added it to the Drop event's wave-mob variety pool (it was accidentally left out).
  • The Drop's announcement, and the Sulfuric Silverfish's ability description, now mention that you need to be at a similar height to count (matches how both already worked, just wasn't stated).
  • Added a proper colored name and lore to the Drop Key item, explaining what it actually does.
  • /announce now plays a sound right before showing the message, and uses a simpler, more colorful format instead of a single plain line.
  • Fixed the PVP-activation GIF: it's now properly assembled (right resolution, frame rate and pacing) to match the other banner animations — it previously wasn't showing correctly and felt sluggish.
  • Worlds updated from an older version of the mod now automatically get any new Sulfuric mob added since (previously, a world's escalada.json was only ever created once — new mobs added by a later mod update, like the Nether family or the Bat, would just never appear on that world until someone manually added them to the file). Only missing entries get added; anything already configured by hand is left untouched.

v0.1.0 — First public release

  • Growing Sulfuric mob family (Nether variants and more are planned; some existing mobs still need their own custom 3D model), each with its own ability.
  • Daily mission system (some mandatory).
  • Real lives, Danger Level, and PVP with Vengeance.
  • Raidable Protection Core (with a permanently clear gap around it).
  • Shared waypoints, custom ambient music, and a custom HUD.
  • Final Round: end-of-season event with a phased world border closure.
  • Configurable spawn-protection zone.

Actively in development — expect changes and bugs.

  • Añadido /xaero minimap on|off (admin, activado por defecto): activa/desactiva el nuevo efecto "fair play" No Minimap, junto al ya existente /xaero cave on|off.

  • Waypoints compartidos, música ambiental propia y HUD personalizado.
