Description

Fake World Border

Multiple damage-free, impassable world borders — as many as you want, anywhere you want.

Fake World Border lets you place any number of named, vanilla-looking world borders in every dimension. They look and feel exactly like the real world border — the same animated blue forcefield wall you cannot walk through — but they never deal damage, and there is no red screen tint. Perfect for arenas, adventure maps, protected zones, progression gating, and server events.

Why not just /worldborder?

The vanilla world border has three problems this mod solves:

Vanilla borderFake World Border
Only one border per dimensionUnlimited named borders per dimension
Hurts and kills players outside itZero damage, ever
Red vignette tints the screenNo screen tint

Features

  • 🧱 Truly solid — walls use the exact same collision resolution as the vanilla border: players, mobs, boats and minecarts are all stopped cleanly, with no rubber-banding and no tunneling at high speed.
  • 🟦 Vanilla visuals — the familiar scrolling forcefield texture, with the same distance fade and animation as the real border.
  • 🗺️ Per dimension — borders live in the dimension you create them in. Overworld, Nether and End each keep their own list.
  • 💾 Persistent — borders are saved with the world and survive restarts.
  • 🌐 Multiplayer ready — server is the source of truth; borders sync automatically on login, respawn, dimension change, and every command edit.
  • 🇰🇷 Command feedback localized in English and Korean.

Commands (OP level 2)

/fakeborder add <name> <centerX> <centerZ> <size> Create a border (relative ~ ~ coordinates supported)
/fakeborder remove <name> Remove a border (tab-completes existing names)
/fakeborder resize <name> <size> Change a border's size
/fakeborder list List all borders in this dimension

Example — a 64-block arena around you, plus a 16-block pen at spawn:

/fakeborder add arena ~ ~ 64
/fakeborder add pen 0 0 16

Installation

Requires Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge 47.4.0+. Install on both server and client (the client needs it to render the walls and predict collision smoothly; singleplayer just needs it in your mods folder).

No config file, no dependencies.

Notes & known limitations

  • The walls block movement from both sides — nothing walks in or out.
  • Like the vanilla world border, teleportation (ender pearls, /tp, portals) can still cross a wall.
  • The real /worldborder is untouched — you can use both together.
