Description

Far Flung Flowers
An add-on for Far Flung Forests that fills its biomes with wild flowers, drifting leaves and fireflies.
⚠️ Requires Far Flung Forests (and TerraBlender, which Far Flung Forests needs). This add-on will not load without it.
🌸 61 New Wild Flowers
Every one of the 60 Overworld biomes in Far Flung Forests now has its own wild flowers, all based on real flowers from that kind of habitat.
- British woodlands: Bluebells, Foxgloves, Primroses, Wood Anemones, Wild Garlic, Red Campion, Green Hellebore
- Meadows: Corncockle, Meadow Cranesbill, Red Clover, Knapweed, Harebells, Scarlet Pimpernel, Yellow Rattle
- Rainforests: Heliconia, Torch Ginger, Passionflower, Bird of Paradise, Black Bat Flower, Jade Vine
- Kauri forests: Kowhai Blossom, Rata Bloom, Mountain Clematis
- Savanna: Flame Lily, Gerbera Daisy, Bush Marigold, Plumbago, Chocolate Cosmos
- Mediterranean hills: Wild Lavender, Rockrose, Wild Gladiolus, Crown Anemone
- East Asian groves: Chrysanthemum, Red Spider Lily, Balloon Flower, Camellia
- Wetlands and rivers: Marsh Marigold, Ragged Robin, Purple Loosestrife, Bog Cotton, Water Forget-me-not, Yellow Flag Iris, Bog Asphodel
- Moors, mountains and snowfields: Heath Spotted Orchid, Tormentil, Alpine Gentian, Edelweiss, Purple Saxifrage, Snowdrop, Arctic Poppy, Fireweed, Twinflower
- Deserts: Desert Marigold, Sand Verbena, Globe Mallow, Ghost Flower
- Coasts: Sea Thrift, Sea Campion, Yellow Horned Poppy, Sea Holly
They work just like vanilla flowers:
- Craft each one into dye (14 different colours)
- Put them in flower pots
- Use them in the composter and in suspicious stew
- Bees love them
- Bone meal on grass grows the local flowers
Desert flowers grow on sand, coastal and mountain flowers on sand, gravel and stone, and wetland flowers on clay and mud.

🍂 Falling Leaves
Now and then a leaf comes loose and drifts down from the trees, swaying and spinning before it settles on the ground. Each leaf takes the colour of its own tree, so ginkgo leaves fall gold and purpleheart leaves fall purple. A few more fall when it rains.
✨ Fireflies
On warm nights, tiny glowing fireflies wander and blink over the woodlands, rainforests, wetlands, rivers and meadows. They're busiest around midnight and stay away in the rain.
The leaves and fireflies are purely visual: nothing to hit, catch or break, and no extra entities in your world.
⚙️ Settings
Each player can adjust the visual effects in config/farflungflowers-client.toml:
- Turn falling leaves and fireflies on or off
- Make them busier or calmer
- Let leaves fall from every tree in the Overworld, not just Far Flung Forests ones
- Choose which biomes get fireflies, including biomes from other mods (e.g.
minecraft:swamp)
Both effects respect Minecraft's Particles setting.
📌 Good to Know
- Requires Far Flung Forests.
- Available for Forge 1.20.1 and NeoForge 1.21.1.
- Flowers appear in newly generated chunks, so explore new land or start a new world.
- Far Flung Forests itself is not changed, so you can add or remove this add-on freely.
