Fastgelica

About

Fastgelica is a Minecraft 1.7.10 compatibility mod that allows Angelica and FastCraft to run together without their rendering conflicts.

Fastgelica is not a replacement for either Angelica or FastCraft. It requires both mods and was created to allow them to work alongside each other while keeping the strengths of both performance solutions.

Why Fastgelica Exists

FastCraft has always been one of the few major Minecraft 1.7.10 performance mods that focused heavily on chunk loading, chunk generation, and engine-level optimizations. However, due to changes made by newer rendering overhauls like Angelica, running both mods together caused compatibility issues because both mods interacted with parts of the rendering pipeline.

Without FastCraft, there was no major mainstream 1.7.10 performance mod that focused on the same chunk-related optimizations that FastCraft provided.

Fastgelica was created to solve this by allowing both mods to coexist.

How It Works

Fastgelica delegates rendering completely to Angelica, allowing it to handle what it does best: improving and modernizing Minecraft's rendering system.

At the same time, Fastgelica allows FastCraft to continue providing its chunk optimizations, loading improvements, and other performance fixes without interfering with Angelica's renderer.

The goal is simple: let Angelica handle rendering, let FastCraft handle its optimizations, and remove the incompatibility between them.

Performance Testing

Fastgelica was tested using a modern Minecraft 1.7.10 performance setup consisting of:

  • Angelica
  • FastCraft
  • ArchaicFix
  • Hodgepodge
  • FoamFix
  • AI Improvements

Testing was also done with large terrain and biome mods including:

  • Realistic Terrain Generation (RTG)
  • Biomes O' Plenty

During testing, exploring newly generated terrain including mountains, valleys, forests, trees, grass, and flowers maintained extremely high performance. FPS commonly remained in the high 700s to 1200+ range while flying through new chunks with practically no noticeable stuttering.

Requirements

Fastgelica requires:

This mod depends on both and will not function without them.
