Description
🔥 Flame Potions adds a complete set of fire-based potions and tipped arrows to Minecraft, filling a surprisingly absent gap in vanilla's brewing system. Brew Potions of Flame from a Fire Charge and Awkward Potion, then craft Splash Potions, Lingering Potions, and Tipped Arrows of Flame — all with unique behaviors that make fire a viable combat and utility strategy.
Features
Potions of Flame
- Potion of Flame — Sets the target on fire for 5 seconds
- Potion of Flame (Extended) — Sets the target on fire for 10 seconds
- Potion of Flame II — Sets the target on fire for 8 seconds with enhanced fire damage
- All three variants available as drinkable, splash, and lingering potions
Splash Potions of Flame
- Ignites entities in the blast radius — including the thrower
- Ignites nearby blocks in a configurable radius (0–3 blocks)
- Flame II splash potions cover more area than Flame I
Lingering Potions of Flame
- Creates an area effect cloud that ignites players/mobs walking through it
- Extended and Flame II variants have larger, longer-lasting clouds (scales with your splash radius setting)
Tipped Arrows of Flame
- Arrow of Flame — Sets targets on fire for 5 seconds, the same as using a regular arrow with a flame bow
- Arrow of Flame (Extended) — Sets targets on fire for 10 seconds
- Arrow of Flame II — Sets targets on fire for 8 seconds with enhanced fire damage
- Arrows fly with visible flames, just like arrows from a Flame-enchanted bow
- Custom arrow tip texture for easy inventory identification
Advancements
- A dedicated "Playing with Fire" advancement tab with 4 unlockable advancements to guide players through the mod's features
Configuration
Adjust settings via Mod Menu (requires YACL):
Splash Potion Flame Area
- (0–3) — also scales lingering potion cloud size
- This is where you decide how big of an area the splash potion will splash.
Water Interaction
- (Pause or Remove)
- You can decide if the Flame effect will be put out with water, or just stop burning until the player/mob gets out of the water.
Flame Bow Bonus
- (On or Off)
- Fire a Flame tipped arrow from a Flame-enchanted bow or crossbow to get a double-duration bonus for Flame bow + Flame arrow combinations. Works with any weapon that has the Flame enchantment — including modded weapons.
Compatibility
- Built on vanilla item types — Potions of Flame are real potions, Tipped Arrows of Flame are real tipped arrows
- Fletcher villagers offer Tipped Arrows of Flame as one of their possible tipped arrow trades
- Server and client compatible
Requirements
- Fabric Loader
- Fabric API
- YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) (for in-game config screen)
- Mod Menu (for accessing config screen)
