# Flower Crush
**Stop breaking flowers just to build.**
In vanilla, flowers get in the way: click one and your block lands next to it, click the ground under one and nothing happens. You end up punching every flower out of the way first.
With **Flower Crush**, just place the block. It takes the plant's spot and **squashes it flat**, with a crunch and a burst of petals. No more clearing the meadow before you build.
---
## ✿ Features
- **Place blocks right on flowers.** The block takes the flower's spot instead of refusing it.
- **Grass gets crushed too.** Grass, ferns, dead bushes and other small plants get the same crunch (vanilla already replaced them, silently).
- **Tall plants are handled.** Rose bushes, lilacs, tall grass and other two-block plants are squashed whole, top half included, whichever half you build on.
- **Crush or drop, your choice.** By default plants are crushed and drop nothing. Switch to *Drop* and they pop out as items, like when broken by hand.
- **Separate settings for flowers and grass.** For example, keep your flowers and crush the grass.
- **In-game config screen.** Open it from the Mods list (Mods → Flower Crush → Config). Changes apply instantly, no restart needed.
- **Creative friendly.** Nothing ever drops in creative mode.
---
## ⚙ Configuration
Change it in game from the Mods list, or edit `config/flowercrush-common.toml`:
| Option | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| `flowerMode` | `CRUSH` / `DROP` | `CRUSH` | What happens to flowers |
| `grassMode` | `CRUSH` / `DROP` | `CRUSH` | What happens to grass, ferns and other small plants |
On a server, the server's config decides.
---
## 🌸 Mod compatibility
Works out of the box with modded plants:
- **Biomes O' Plenty**
- **Oh The Biomes We've Gone**
- **Regions Unexplored**
Most modded flowers are picked up automatically through the `minecraft:flowers` tag. The mod also ships support for the plants these three mods leave out of that tag, or block from being replaced (barley, cattails, sea oats, elephant ears, corpse flowers…). None of them is required.
### For modpack makers: block tags
Add more plants with a datapack:
- **`flowercrush:crushable`**: extra plants that can be crushed.
- **`flowercrush:flowers`**: plants that should follow the *flower* setting instead of the *grass* one.
Only walk-through blocks (no collision) are ever affected, so leaves and other solid blocks are safe.
---
## 📋 Details
- **Loader:** NeoForge 1.21.1
- **Side:** required on **both client and server**
- **Dependencies:** none
- **License:** MIT
Not affected on purpose: saplings, crops, mushrooms, berry bushes, cactus and water plants.

*Found a modded plant that doesn't get crushed? Let me know in the comments or the issue tracker, with the mod and the plant name.*
