Description
Fog Rule
This mod introduces a unique fog and comfort mechanic to Minecraft. The world is blanketed in a dense fog that players can clear away by placing blocks to build up their base. Hostile mob spawning is tied directly to this fog. Mobs can only spawn inside the dense fog, meaning that no matter how dark a room is, hostiles will not spawn if the area is cozy and the fog has been pushed away. Players can track the local comfort level by opening the F3 menu.
The Discomfort Chest
The mod adds a new functional block called the Discomfort Chest, which is crafted using a chest and a diamond. Once placed, you must wait a configurable real-life day until 8:00 PM server time. At that point, the chest aggressively consumes the surrounding coziness and applies Mining Fatigue on any player within a 50-block radius.
In exchange for this discomfort, the chest generates random loot across three tiers, depending on how much coziness it swallowed. This mechanic allows players to build massive castles and intentionally let them decay into hostile, fog-filled dungeons to harvest high-tier loot.
Dependencies and Support
The Lootr mod is strictly required because loot is generated individually for each player.
Please note that this mod was heavily vibecoded and likely contains bugs, so use it on servers with caution. Code contributions, bug reports, and help are highly appreciated, as the developer currently lacks the necessary skills to maintain and polish the project alone.
