Back to the Roots
If you're nostalgic for the old Minecraft survival experience, this mod is for you.
Minecraft has become easier over the years. Resources are everywhere, the world feels endless, and surviving rarely feels like a real challenge anymore. This mod brings back the feeling of making the most out of a small world, where every block, every item, and every decision matters.
Version 1.0.0
This is the first public release of the mod.
I'll continue to improve it with regular updates, balance changes, bug fixes, and new features based on community feedback.
If you encounter any issues or have ideas for future updates, feel free to share them. Your feedback will help shape future versions of the mod.
World Sizes
Choose the world size that matches the type of challenge you're looking for:
Extreme Small – 7 Chunks
Medium – 12 Chunks (Recommended)
Freedom – 16 Chunks
I recommend playing on Medium (9 Chunks). It offers the best balance between exploration, building, and resource management while keeping the survival challenge alive.
Beyond the Border
- The world doesn't continue beyond the playable area.
- Outside the border:
- No caves generate.
- No ores generate.
- No mobs spawn.
- Nothing can grow.
* Past the playable area the land goes on, but it is dead: hidden by thick fog and left empty.* Outside the border: no decoration grows, no ores are placed, and no mobs spawn.* Cross the fog without a full set of copper armour and it kills you.* The only reason to go out there is the stronghold — and the way to the End.
Gameplay Changes
- To make survival feel more rewarding, several mechanics have been rebalanced:
The goal isn't to make Minecraft unfair—it's to make every achievement feel meaningful again.
Locked Settings
Some game settings are locked to preserve the intended experience.
- Open to LAN is disabled.
- Difficulty cannot be changed.
- Brightness cannot be changed.
No shortcuts. No easy way out.
100 Days Challenge
I challenge everyone to survive 100 Days using this mod.
If you decide to take on the challenge, I'd love to see your progress. Share screenshots, your builds, and especially your map after 100 days. I'm curious to see how every player's world develops despite starting with the same limitations.
Good luck, and have fun.
