Furnace Speed Reforged

Furnace Speed Reforged is a lightweight mod that lets you control how fast furnaces process items using a simple gamerule.

Want vanilla behavior? Keep it at 1x.
Want a little boost? Set it to 2x, 5x, 10x, or whatever fits your pack.
Want an entire stack processed almost instantly? Well... 12800x exists for a reason.

Usage

Use the gamerule:

/gamerule SetFurnaceSpeed <speed>

1 — Vanilla speed
2 — 2x speed
100 — 100x speed
12800 — Maximum speed

The effective speed is limited to 1–12800.

Compatibility

Furnace Speed Reforged modifies Minecraft's standard furnace processing system rather than targeting individual furnace blocks.

Because of this, it is designed to automatically work with:

  • Furnace
  • Blast Furnace
  • Smoker
  • Modded furnaces that use Minecraft's standard AbstractFurnaceBlockEntity system

Modded machines that use their own independent processing systems may not be affected.

How does it work?

The selected speed accelerates the furnace's normal processing as a whole. Cooking and fuel consumption are accelerated together, so increasing the speed doesn't make fuel artificially more efficient.

At 1x, furnaces behave exactly as they normally would.

The maximum of 12800x is enough for a standard 200-tick furnace recipe to process an entire stack of 64 items within a single game tick.
