Ghast Cruise

Press Ctrl+W while driving a Happy Ghast to keep flying forward after releasing W.

Start and stop

  • Sit in the driver seat of a Happy Ghast and press Ctrl+W once.
  • Press Ctrl+W again or your backward movement key (S by default) to cancel.
  • Sneaking/dismounting, opening menus or chat, losing window focus, dying, changing mounts, or losing the driver seat also cancels cruise. It never resumes automatically.
  • An action-bar message shows whether cruise is ON or OFF. Normal steering and looking up/down remain available.

Requirements

Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5+, and Java 25. Install on the client only. Fabric API is not required, and the server does not need the mod. Put the jar in your mods folder and restart.

The shortcut is fixed to Ctrl+W and accepts either Ctrl key. Backward cancellation follows your movement keybind. Other mobs and passenger seats are unaffected. Cancellation releases automatic forward input; normal flight inertia remains.

This is cruise control, not navigation: it does not avoid obstacles, increase speed, or protect an unattended rider. Follow the automation rules of multiplayer servers.

Initial beta

Automated tests cover cancellation, mount changes, all 128 movement-button combinations, normalized steering, both Ctrl keys, and key repeat suppression. All three client mixin targets loaded with the installed mod set. A manual in-world flight test is still pending, so the initial file is a beta.
