Description

Give More Than 64 is a small utility mod for Minecraft 1.12.2 that enhances the /give command. It allows you to request any quantity of an item, automatically splitting the total into multiple stacks that respect the item's natural stack limit. For instance, /give @s minecraft:egg 100 will give you 6 full stacks of 16 eggs and one partial stack of 4 eggs, instead of just a single stack of 16.
📦 Installation
- Install Minecraft Forge for 1.12.2.
- Place
givemorethan64-1.12.2-forge-1.0.0.jarinto your.minecraft/modsfolder. - Launch the game. The mod is ready to use.
This mod is required on both the client and server for correct operation.
✨ Features
- Unlimited
/giveAmounts — Request any number of items, bypassing the vanilla command's stack limit. - Automatic Stack Distribution — Items are intelligently split across multiple stacks up to the item's natural limit (e.g., 16 for eggs, 64 for dirt).
- Preserves NBT Data — Any NBT tags (like enchantments or custom names) are correctly copied to all generated stacks.
- Pickup Feedback — Each batch of items added to your inventory plays the appropriate pickup sound.
- Excess Item Handling — Any items that don't fit in your inventory are safely dropped at your feet.
- Accurate Success Messages — The chat output correctly confirms the full amount you requested.
- Vanilla Behaviour for Small Quantities — Requests within the stack limit behave exactly like the standard
/givecommand.

❓ FAQ
Does this need to be installed on the server?
Yes. The mod intercepts the /give command on the server side. The client also needs the mod loaded for consistent class loading and to display the info card. Both sides must have it installed.
Does this work with any item?
Yes. It works with every item, regardless of its natural stack limit (e.g., eggs, ender pearls, snowballs, boats, and even items with a stack size of 1).
Does this change any vanilla mechanics?
No. It only modifies the /give command's behaviour. All other gameplay and item mechanics remain unchanged.
I found a bug, where do I report it?
Please use the GitHub issue tracker. Include your Minecraft version, modloader version, and any relevant crash logs.
