About
Description
This mod adds "glowing" variants of most vanilla Minecraft blocks. The glowing variants emit a light level of 15.
It also adds an item called the Glowstone Wand which can be used to convert vanilla blocks into their glowing counterpart, and to convert glowing blocks back to vanilla again. In survival mode, the Glowstone Wand consumes glowstone dust to convert vanilla blocks to glowing. Sneak click using the Glowstone Wand to convert a glowing block back to vanilla, which will drop glowstone dust.
The glowing blocks added with this mod are entirely new blocks. This mod does not overwrite the vanilla blocks, or add new properties to vanilla blocks. All glowing blocks are entirely new blocks, that are designed to mimic their vanilla counterpart while emitting a light level of 15.
By default, the Glowstone Wand consumes 4 glowstone dust to convert a vanilla block to glowing, and when it is used to convert glowing blocks back to vanilla, the block will drop 4 glowstone dust. Both of these numbers can be changed in the config file to consume or drop a number of glowstone dust of your preference, between 0-64. If playing in Creative Mode, no glowstone is consumed or dropped to make conversions between vanilla and glowing blocks.
I tried to make all glowing blocks mimic their vanilla counterpart as much as possible, but some Glowing Block variants do not have the same functionality as their vanilla counterpart (for example, glowing soul sand and glowing magma blocks do not create bubble columns). However, I might be able to add functionality to certain blocks if requests are made and it's not too difficult to do.
This mod should be compatible with most texture packs, as it does not add new block textures to the game. Glowing blocks just match whatever texture is being used on the vanilla blocks.
I am new to coding and this is my first ever mod, so there may be bugs. Please feel free to leave comments pointing out bugs or with any suggestions and I'll do my best to address comments as soon as possible.
