Goecia: Forgotten Rites
Goecia is a dark fantasy expansion mod for Minecraft focused on exploration atmosphere and progression. The mod introduces dangerous new environments creatures structures and equipment designed to make the world feel harsher more mysterious and more rewarding to explore. This update continues expanding that vision with new biomes enemies decorative content progression systems and gameplay mechanics.
⚠️ Version Support Notice
Support for Minecraft 1.19.2 has been discontinued.
All future updates will target Minecraft 1.20.1 and newer versions only.
Structures Adventures Rituals and Challenges
New structures can now be found across the world each designed to add more adventure and danger to exploration. Hidden ruins hostile areas ritual related locations and other points of interest are now scattered through the overworld encouraging players to travel further and prepare for increasingly difficult encounters. New hostile mobs also increase the overall challenge of survival making exploration more dangerous than before.
New Ores Tools Armor and Progression
New ores have been added bringing new crafting materials equipment and progression paths. Players can now forge new tools armor and combat gear designed to help survive the growing threats introduced throughout the mod. Special consumables foods and life increasing items can also be crafted using rare ores enemy drops and materials obtained throughout exploration allowing players to further strengthen themselves against the dangers of Goecia.
Decorative Blocks and Fantasy Building
A large collection of new decorative blocks has been added allowing players to build darker more atmospheric structures inspired by fantasy worlds ruins and ancient architecture. New stone variants bricks carved blocks and themed materials greatly expand building possibilities while helping the world itself feel more immersive and unique.

DemonWood Forest
Goecia currently adds the Demonwood Forest, a custom biome focused on atmosphere and exploration. The biome features unique trees, vegetation, ruins, and dark fantasy environments designed to blend naturally into Minecraft’s world generation while creating a darker and more dangerous atmosphere.
Core of Life
The Core of Life is one of the main progression systems in Goecia. Players can permanently increase their maximum health by consuming rare Core of Life items found throughout the world. As vitality increases, the health bar evolves visually through different stages:
- Orange vitality
- Blue vitality
- Purple vitality
Players can eventually reach up to three full health bars, for a maximum of 60 health points.
Corruption System
Goecia introduces a corruption mechanic tied to demonic influence and cursed environments. As corruption increases, players become more vulnerable and enemies deal increasingly higher damage. Exploring dangerous areas without preparation can quickly become deadly. Players can reduce corruption by trading with special wandering characters hidden throughout the world.
Structures and Exploration
The world of Goecia contains multiple structures designed to reward exploration:
- Ritual ruins
- Decorative structures
- Exorcist Towers
- Nether portal structures
- Thematic forest ruins
Many of these locations contain loot, hostile creatures, rare materials, and progression-related rewards.
Hostile Creatures
Goecia adds multiple hostile supernatural creatures inspired by dark fantasy themes, including:
- Imps
- Servants
- Insect Demons
- Exorcists
Some creatures have dimensional variants depending on where they spawn, while others guard structures and dangerous regions.
Equipment and Progression
Players can craft multiple weapons, tools, and armor sets using the ores and materials added by the mod, including demonic resources obtained from hostile creatures. Goecia also adds special consumable apples crafted with materials from the mod, granting different vanilla potion effects useful during survival and combat.
