A silly, lighthearted mod that emulates the cartoonish shenanigans you'd see in a Looney Tunes episode. It'll brighten your day!

Description

A joke mod that I spent a lot of time and dedication on...

Goofy Goober is a dangerously goofy mod that is packed with wildly cartoonish shenanigans, like what you'd see in a Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry episode! It is a server- and client-side mod, working on both singleplayer and multiplayer worlds. Forge only, no Fabric.

Update: I have now updated the version to 1.20.4. But I am no longer interested in further updating the mod.

Trailer:

There are many things you can try! Like...

pBkDVjb.jpeg

Stepping on something hot or sharp!

94adsho.jpeg

Eating up to a stack of food in one bite!

5PNTU4L.jpeg

Skedaddling away from trouble! (Press V to toggle. What happens when you press Shift while skedaddling?)

OqtB1jK.jpeg

Engaging in a wallop with rambunctious scallywags!

and more!

Basically all the features of this mod, if you're curious (some technical details included):

Stepping on something painful

The mob lets out a sharp cry

Stepping on any of the following objects will launch a mob into the air (in ascending order of launch distance):

             Sweet berry bush

             Magma block

             Cactus

             Fire

             Lava

             Stalagmite

None of this applies to iron golems

Villagers and players make snoring noises when sleeping

Mobs emit skedaddling noises when panicking

New status effects

       Fat

             Player/mob becomes comically fat

             Width is multiplied by 3

       Squashed

             Player/mob becomes flat

             Height becomes 0.25 blocks

A mob still "suffocates" when under a solid block, but does not take actual damage

       Crashed

Player/mob becomes flattened in the x-direction

             Width is 0.25 blocks

       Smashed

Player/mob becomes flattened in the z-direction

             Width is 0.25 blocks

Hallucinating / "I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse!"

Player sees every living entity as a tasty slab of steak

The player can eat up to a stack of food at once

When more than one food is eaten at a time, the player becomes comically fat, gaining the Fat, Slowness, and Resistance status effects

Duration and intensity depends on the saturation, nutrition, and number of food items eaten from the inventory slot

Players gains (# of food items) * (saturation) saturation and (# of food items) * (nutrition) nutrition. Saturation has no cap, while nutrition is capped at 20.

Player lets out a loud, rude burp

Laughing noises play upon player death

Player/mobs are squished flat under the following conditions:

Falling from a height of at least 20 blocks

             Squashed effect

Duration is (height) / 2 seconds

       Attacked by an iron golem

             Squashed effect

             Duration is 30 seconds

Squashed by an anvil or falling stalactite

             Squashed effect

             Duration is 10 seconds

Crashing into the wall while flying on an Elytra

Crashed/Smashed effect, depending on what direction the player/mob is facing

Duration is (damage amount) * 1.8 seconds

       Player skedaddles into a wall

Crashed/Smashed effect, depending on what direction the player/mob is facing

For a player with no damage resistance, the damage amount is 6, so the duration is 10.8 seconds

When a mob gets in a fight with a player / another mob, a cloud of dust forms while goofy noises play.

If the player is near 3 or more hostile/monster mobs, 5 unique hostile/monster mobs spawn around the player, adding to the chaos

Cooldown is 2 minutes when at least 1 mob is successfully summoned, 1 minute cooldown otherwise

For fairness, slimes and magma cubes the size of 2 or less do not count towards the surrounding mob count

If a zombified piglin is summoned in the Nether, it will not target the player unless provoked

Summoned mobs tend to attack each other (20% of the time they target the player first)

As a result, it can become very disorienting to both the eyes and ears. Be careful.

List of mobs that can be summoned:

             Wither skeleton

             Spider (Strength I, Resistance I)

Cave spider (Strength I, Resistance I)

             Magma cube (size 3)

             Slime (size 3)

             Polar bear

             Zombified piglin

Hunger hallucination

Occurs when the player's hunger level is 9 or below

Player gains the Hallucinating effect and will see every living entity as a tasty slab of steak

The hallucination subsides when the player's hunger rises to 10 or above

Skedaddle

Toggled by pressing V (skedaddle is disabled by default)

When player attempts to run, it will run in place for 1 second with a goofy running animation--before taking off with greater speed

When running in place, the player temporarily gains Slowness VII

When skedaddling, the player gains Speed II for 20 seconds

Can be abruptly ended if the player stops running or runs into a wall

Takes up more hunger than normal running

If the player skedaddles into a wall, it gains the Crashed/Smashed effect as well as 6 damage

When the player sneaks while skedaddling, it will start doing a devious walk

Mobs (except the Warden for some reason) cannot target the player unless the player is less than 4 blocks away

Player cannot skedaddle in the water

Player/mobs emit a teeth-chattering noise when touching powder snow without wearing leather armor

This mod is not really designed to be fair, so be extra careful when playing this in a Hardcore world.

This is my first mod ever created, and I've had a ton of fun making it. Please let me know in the comments if you run into any issues.

Have fun!

I want to start working on a new mod, so any changes (besides version updates) are unlikely. Thank you all very much for the support though!!
