Description
Hardcore Revival (NeoForge)
Hardcore Revival is a server-side utility for Minecraft Hardcore mode, designed to provide a balanced and challenging resurrection mechanic. Instead of permanent elimination upon death, this mod introduces a structured ritual system that allows players to be revived at a significant cost, maintaining the high-stakes nature of Hardcore gameplay.
Core Features
- Ghost State Management: Upon death, players transition into a Ghost state rather than immediate Spectator mode. Ghosts remain in the world with restricted interaction capabilities and invisibility, awaiting resurrection.
- Ritual-Based Resurrection: Players must construct a specific multi-tier structure (Totem) and use the deceased player's skull to initiate the revival process.
- Health Penalty System: Resurrection is not without consequence. The mod implements configurable permanent and temporary maximum health reductions (Resurrection Sickness) for the revived player.
- Performer Incentives: To encourage cooperative play, the player performing the ritual can receive permanent maximum health rewards, configurable via the mod settings.
- Global Event Notifications: Advanced HUD integration provides real-time global announcements of player deaths, including precise coordinates and dimension data.
The Resurrection Ritual
The ritual requires a specific structure to be built relative to the placement of the player's skull. The structure must be assembled as follows:
Tier 1: Foundation (y -2)
- Center: A high-value mineral block (Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Netherite, or a Beacon).
- Cardinals (N, S, E, W): Any variant of Stairs.
- Diagonals: Soul Sand or Soul Soil blocks.
Tier 2: Conduit (y -1)
- Center: A Fence post placed directly above the mineral block.
- Diagonals: Any Flower variant placed above the Soul Sand/Soil blocks.
Tier 3: Activation (y 0)
- Center: Place the deceased player's head on top of the fence post.
Upon successful completion, the structure will be struck by lightning, and the target player will be immediately teleported to the ritual site with the configured status effects applied.
Configuration and Administration
All mod parameters are managed via the hardcorerevival-common.toml configuration file, located in the server's config directory.
Available Settings
- Death Mode: Switch between
STANDARD(Spectator) andGHOST(Adventure mode with restricted movement). - Ghost Stay Radius: Defines the maximum distance a ghost can travel from their point of death.
- Health Scaling: Precise control over permanent and temporary health penalties and rewards.
- HUD Customization: Enable or disable death coordinates and dimension reporting.
